Just got my new Ronco Rotisserie BarbeQ oven cooker.Boy it was so good.Cooked a sirloin and it was so nice and juicy and seemed restaurant cooked.Also cooked some steam green beans and black eyed peas also.It was all way good.Thinks that this is the best thing I bought so far this year.

CONSIDER THIS E-NAIL :)

Yes, it's time for another installment about my smashed finger/nail. It looks awful! It split in half horizontally and the old half (which is almost the whole thing) is falling off while there is a little bit of new nail at the cuticle. The bad part almost looks like dead skin now (isn't a nail already dead?), and is falling apart rapidly.

Is there anything I need to do in case the purple diseased looking nail falls off and exposes raw meat? Eeks, this is new to me. Any comments would be welcome.

Bandaid will be good. The old nail, will not fall off until there is no more blood supply to it. You might want to stop in at the health dept or your doctor to have it removed if it is very loose, painful and still hanging on. I lost a nail once and I just kept it clean, covered and dry until it fell off on its own. By then the skin underneath was healed. Nails are dead above the fingertip. The part stuck to the finger and the half moon part does have a blood supply and is alive.

Hey has anyone ever played Everquest?I just got it and been playing it.It's a online roleplaying game.It's cool but I can't figure it out...*burps and says sxuse me from the blue koolaid I drunk.* *head spins.*

Watch out for Everquest, Boxey....lol.... It is way addicting. My son gave me a tour and there are guys that spend 18 hours a day in there. It is great though and I was amazed at the graphics, but I can't let myself get involved right now....those guys play serious. I don't think that I would be able to keep up..... but good luck and let me know how you do......maybe I can come watch.

You will learn soon enough how to stay alive and it will become second nature to you.....and I do hate to add this but you will also find that ,you too, will enjoy killing off others...lol... and each time you get zapped, it will make you want to go further and chase the ones that got you.....but I have to add, some of these guys and gals have been at this for over 10 years and are extremely good.......lol....makes me wish we had them out looking for Bin Laden and Saddam....

My parents now live in Arizona, Boxey, but I've lived near Portland, Oregon since I was a pre-teen (over 35 years).

My comment was because last summer we lost a record number of acres in a single wildfire in southwestern Oregon (over 1,000 homes destroyed in wildfires around the state, if I heard correctly). This past winter was so dry in this corner of the country that the experts are now saying this year's fires might be even worse.

You have tornadoes, California has earthquakes (well, so do we but not as many), and we have landslides and wildfires.

Oh, and the occasional volcano.... :laugh:

Still, earthquake risk and dormant volcanoes aside, there's no place else I'd rather live (Nevada and Arizona are too hot, dry and brown for me!)

Hi Em! Wow, a year of 12 hour days. I did that once. In fact, for several months it was 12 hours 7 days a week, with one day off a month. Luckily it was only for a short time. One good thing about 12 hours, the pay is GREAT! :)

It depends on the job I think, how good 12 hour days are. The pit of hell worked the life out of me with just 10 hour days, 1 day off in two weeks. On the one day off I had to grocery shop and do laundry, made it hard to enjoy it.

I love TVLand. Last weekend I watched the Bewitched marathon. This weekend I am watching the I Dream of Jeannie marathon. Those were 2 of the best shows ever produced, IMO.

I can't remember if I had posted this or not....but my bootmaker now makes BSG boots and are they so cool, for those that are making a warrior's uniform...or just to wear...... Jim's boots are beautiful and very well made. He made me a pair of Adi Gallia boots for my Jedi Costume.

Phoebe and I have certianly come a long way in a short time.
I gave her a bath today. Since she is overweight, she can't reach all of her to groom, and she was looking pretty icky, not to mention to fur was geting thin, so I had to take matters into my own hands, and she was pretty cool through the whole ordeal. I'm sure it helped that it wasn't a full body scrub, but still, not a scratch, not a bite, she didn't put up much of a fight at all. I combed her afterward too, and she's not even holding a grudge. She's curled up on the sofa next to me right now, just like any other night.

When I was around 8 or so, we had a cat and a dog (both female). They got along famously. The funniest thing happened when our cat came around to having a litter of kittens. She became increasingly anxious and unrestful as the kittens nursed for too long. To our amazement, our cocker spaniel came to the rescue and relieved her (they seemed to actually have a conversation first), and lay down with the kittens in her place. The kittens were undeterred and went right on nursing from the dog. So our cat nuzzled the dog a thank you and went for a much deserved rest and dinner.

Pets are incredibly human after all :).

Computer mouse died quietly in her sleep yesterday. Those that loved her were with her. She was a white mouse named Padmae. Her sister, Pricilla, recently died also of old age. Padmae was four years old, which is extrodinary for a mouse. She was saved three years ago from certain death from a Ball Python and lived above Em's computer in a comfortable cage with her sister. She loved to play on the keyboard of the computer and she loved to eat grapes. She and Pricilla will be missed.

The X-Men action figures have agreed to fill the void on the shelf.

That is one thing about Everquest. If you don't make friends, it can be lonely. My son played for three years then quit when it became to expensive and he went back 4 years later and when he signed on, everybody remembered him.

He couldn't understand that I was not berating the new BSG miniseries; but the way it was concieved and carried out and disassembled. He said that I was lying about talking to Richard; and I did, at Dragon Con last year(I even have pictures).....He also said that if he had listened to the hardcore StarGate fans he would have never watched the TV series...I reminded him that StarGate SG1 is a continuation, not a reimagining.....

Hi all,

It's been 106 or better every day for the last month here. Today, surprisingly, the morning was filled with thunderclaps and rain and a nice cool 73 degrees. It's nice to have the windows open. I really like air and light.

I am really jazzed (pun intended). I got all my data restored on my system. I can't tell you how important it was not to lose the last 8 years of work and info. I'm thankful for moments like these, a cool break in the weather and a stroke of good luck.

Blast it! It wont work for me either. I'll tell you how I found it. I went to google and searched Battlestar Galatica. Found Sheba's Galaxy. Once there I clicked on Photo Gallery. You will see actor 1 actor2 and miscellaneous, click on miscellaneous. A picture will come up of a group shot titled missing anthem scene. Click on here under the picture and it will take you to the missing scenes. I think it is neat and wonder if they filmed all the scenes if they will be on the Dvd collection comming out in the next few months.
If any of you find this site let me know what you think. Sorry I can't find the right link, I've tried and tried; but the only way I can access it again is going back to google.

I don't mean to change vices, but mine is cherry juice bars. We live in a mostly hispanic community (lots of migrant workers) and on any given day as many as 4 different pushcarts tinkle by selling paletas (popsicles).

For a full year I was thrilled to have the tastiest, juiciest cherry juice bar you ever had. It was a foreign-made treat , and believe me they know how to make 'em.

Sadly, the one pushcart owner who had them went back to Mexico. And I miss them so!!! Poor Muffit. :(

I feel like I should share when something good happens, cuz even though many not so good things happen it's better to concentrate on the good.

I needed something for my system. I was so sad when I lost out on a deal to get it for $15 instead of $100. But a day later I found a pack of 3 for only $25 instead of $300! So I'm actually way ahead!

The other day my system broke. Bad thing right? Nope, that was the day the latest virus hit, so I was spared something that could've been disastrous. So being broken can be a good thing!

And lastly, even though this mini is everything I abhor, on the good side they are releasing the original on DVD, (possibly because of it), and that's a very, very good thing.

So the next time something goes wrong, remember, it may work out good after all :).

I don't mind helping him and checking his work. I actually enjoy spending the time one on one with him, but I can think back to a time when I went to grade school and the homework didn't seem to take that long.

I was on CF this morning, and everything was fine. Then when I got in from work I had a message from Muffit via cylon.
It said CF was gone! What a shock.
I don't know what happened either, but the folks at the yahoo groups got a nasty letter from "ronmoore rules".
I guess this guy is a member of Black Squadren, and is taking credit for the site being shut down. Whether or not this is the truth, I can't say for sure.
Just glad CF is back and I agree with Kingfish. This place will be here forever!!

After I tried here and saw the closed msg, I checked over at Cylon Alliance, and read posts saying CF was gone for good. I felt pretty devastated. I sent amber a pm at CA (but it got delayed a long time before it was actually sent. It stays in the outbox for some reason).

Please let our wonderful CF stay happy and well for years to come. I already lost many friends and relatives when I moved to the boonies. Please don't take my new friends here.
