I know how you feel! My dog got loose from me and I had to chase him all over town, he thought it was a game...........I was scared to death! He darted in and out of traffic........I was sure He would have gotten killed.
I finally caught him and brought him back home, but I really got my work out that day. :)

Thank you for your understanding :rose:

ok ya'll are going to think I am a bit nutty for this but I just went to the Goodwill store at the top of the hill and bought a pair of pants. Yes, I am a thrift store shopper. I love to go there and buy clothes. That is where I bought my wedding dress, paid only $20 for it and only had a couple of minor alterations to make. My hubby and when my family come down they go there too. You can get really good deals on clothes and other household merchandise.

Nothing nutty about it at all, dearest bsg1fan. I go to the thrift stores to find stage clothes when I am perfroming in rock bands. (They can be a surprisingly good source for stage clothes...nice jeans, cool shirts.)

And of course, I also make thrifty runs to the supermarket...a band guy isn't a band guy without Ramen noodles. :D

I guess I am not nutty if other people do it too. I like the selection and the prices aren't bad either. Where else can you buy a pair of pants or a shirt for under $10. Bought a winter coat there too as my old one finally died and I needed a new one come this winter. That was only $20 also! My stepgrandma used to go school clothes shopping for me on the base at the thrift shop. Got so much nice things that the girls that had to wear the latest fashions tried to find out where I got my clothing. I told them that I had received them as gifts for the upcoming school year! Boy there used to be so jealous!

Hubby is talking about getting me a sewing machine and I told him that instead of buying curtains for the winter I will just get some fabric and make some. Can't be that hard.

Your right about the fashions in the stores. Either they would make me look like a bag lady or a ...... well lets not scare the kiddies with that word? You get more bang for your buck in thrift stores!

Hi Bsg

Make sure you have him get you a good one if you're gonna do drapes. The low cost ones are fine for shirts and dresses, but give 'em thicker material like drapes and jeans and the bobbin jams up every 30 seconds :(.

Hi yawl!!! Yup, I finally learned the correct spelling for the 2nd person plural Tennessee conjugation!! :D

We signed the final papers and both the sale of our previous place in California and the new place in Tennessee have gone thru fine (phew! Thanky Lord! ;) ). We were on pins and needles but thankfully all is fine now. The sellers moved out waaaay ahead of schedule so we can move in Saturday! Woohoo! ('Course our furniture is somewhere in limboland, but hopefully it will materialize sometime soon).

It's so pretty here, /nothing/ like California's endless terrain of dead grass and treeless yards. We have a miniature forest in our backyard, and a lovely creek with it's own little bridge. Sitting out on the deck is like being in a cabin on vacation :).

We were able to pay off the new home using a portion of the sale of our previous place, which is pretty crazy! I can't believe we were in our own little world in CA with astronomical mortgages and teeny tiny yards. It's like a "whole other universe" here.

I'm hoping the beautiful scenery will spark me to write more. Anywho, yawl tyke care of yerrin, and awl bresh up on my acceyent!!! :D :D :D

well I am not going to do like I did last year. I have already started shopping but I have run into a mass of confusion. My grandma in law is now in a nursing home. We are not sure if she is going to be around for xmas. So while I was trying to plan out the gifts for hubby's side I came to Meme's problem and hit a brick wall with a cylon. What can I get her for xmas, is what crossed my mind.

For Meme, I was thinking of a bottle of lotion. I used to work in a nursing home as a housekeeper when I was a teen , so I know that they have strict rules about what you can give someone in a home. I thought that hubby and I could give her some lotion. I know that people in nursing homes always can use lotion.

And if his grandma does not make it hubby and I were thinking that we could give it to my baby sis.

So what do you guys think?

shiningstar

She accidently called me my hubby's ex-wife's name and I let it go as I knew it was not intentional but due to her condition. My mother in law thinks the lotion is a good idea also.

I am here!

Ok, Christmas dinner shopping is done! And everything is set for a nice holiday.

No white Xmas this year:cry:

Not ready to face my father in law after the crap he pulled last friday. I might just lay into him for the fight he started between me and hubby. We had plans to go out to dinner friday as he had a job interview about 40 minutes from our house and so Kev called his parents on his way home to see how his grandmother was and his father said that they needed him to help with something at their house. Kev asked him if it couldn't wait till the next morning as we had plans and he said it would upset me if we had to cancel as we had set the plans earlier in the week. Well his father informed him that what needed fixing could not wait. So needless to say I was not happy when he called me to tell me that our dinner plans had to be cancelled. I am so tired of bending for his father when that man has made me feel since I met my husband that I was not good enough to be with his son. Looking forward to going over there for Christmas eve day as much as I like going to the dentist.

I hope he does too. Get him some echinacea and some kelp pills too. They help to build up the immune system. Those supplements have also been known to cut the time of a illness in half. THIS was according to my doctor.

he's doing somewhat better. The cold is only aggrivated into acting up when he goes out into the really cold outside. I hope the warmer temperatures that we are supposed to get this weekend really help him. Supposed to be in the 40's here.

That's good Bsg. Try to get him to drink some hot tea too. Also have him gargle with hot/warm salt water. That'll help loosen the congestion.

I have only been going to two forums lately, where they have made me a mod in both. So I guess I still have the ability to be proficient at it even if they do not think so here. When I came back here last night to say hi, it had moved and when I clicked on the url, it popped up a window with someone saying that they had been banned and they didn't know why and that they were trying to find out. It took me several tries to get here again...I thought I might have been banned too. I didn't think I did that bad as a mod here. I did feel like they cast me off like an old shoe.... I feel sad that the old family is no longer in the same status they once were. I thought this place was here through thick and thin. It no longer feels like Battlestar Galactica to me. :Nsad: I am trying to give it another chance, but when I saw the notice that it had been moved I had thought that all of the members would have been notified. I miss you ,sis and amberstar, shining star, Rowan, Muffit, so I came back to say hi.

I missed you too. I agree with what you said about some of the old family is gone and that is a shame.

Poor Em! I fell for that, too! The banned thing was just a silly joke, though, so don't worry! I believe that muffit and maybe thomas were the culprits... er... instigators... er... It all started on another thread where they got a little racy with some double entendres and decided that they would have to "ban" themselves for it, lol! :D

Many people got fooled by Muffit's sense of humour LOL! I never go to the front page of fleets so didn't know about it till I think it was Sci Fi started a thread on it in the G - cafe area asking if it was true. Yes we were bad if you want to read about our naughty misadventures then make your way over to : http://battlestargalactica-fleets.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9316 and see for yourself ;) :D

Thanks Rowan...lol... I'll go read it......

Ace...Life is so amazing isn't it? :wtf: Just when you think you have it all under control, it zaps you harder....I have learned the hard way to take time for myself.....I got so tired of putting everything and everyone else first. I have found that they really do not care about you...Just what you can do for them... I now do only for my family and myself. My work stays at work.....I do not bring it home anymore. My sanity is worth alot more than that.....

just had a tough week to get through last week. The morning of the 10th I got a call from my sister telling me that a friend of 25 years had passed away early that morning form a heart attack. Hubby went with me to the wake and funeral last Sunday and Monday. My friend's mother and mine met when we moved from my homestate in 1980 to where I grew up in RI. He was like a brother to me for many years. Then on top of that we got good news on the homefront, hubby got his old job back, its a 65 mile commute for him but at least it is better than nothing.

Hello everyone; Been busy this spring. Time is something of a luxury these days. But I think of BG and Fleets often. Sort of like one of those tunes, once you get it in your head, not easy to get rid of. But in a good way.
Take care.
