Ack! That brings back a painful memory (LOL!) Eighth grade. Squirt gun craze. Got me a new squirt pistol Easily concealable. Took it to school in the morning. Friend sees it, covets it, asks to borrow it. I say "OK". He disappears down the corridor. Moments later he is quick-stepping back, gun tucked under his armpit. Gives it back to me. Teacher is following him. Confiscates the gun. And I NEVER GOT TO EVEN SHOOT IT. :cry:

I personally LOVE water fights having participated in many!! about 3 years ago I spent the whole afternoon chasing my friend and his two kids around and through the house screaming and laughing and squirting water at each other with the super soakers. Everyone was soaked through including the house by the end of it but boy did we have fun!!!:D It's hard to know where to draw the line with water fights. At the small college I went to, there was a brief time that water balloon fights were popular. But the warfare escalated, the armament grew more deadly, and soon guys were filling buckets in the swimming pool and chasing other guys into the dorm to soak them. TPTB had to put a stop to it.

The year was 1989 and my half-sister was taking a shower. In accordance with a long-standing tradition, I stepped into the bathroom armed with a bucket of water. Only I had upped the ante and it was ice water. I dumped it on her and ran for cover, followed by the sounds of her shrieks of horror.

Only, this time, she followed me. Wrapped only in a towel and armed with a kitchen knife she chased me out of the house and down the road yelling incoherently. Apparently, I had found out how far was too far in a water fight the hard way!

The only thing that stopped her was the sight of a police cruiser headed down the road towards us. She ducked into the woods and headed back home, leaving me to explain the whole situation to the officer. Fortunately, it happened to be the woman my father was dating, so there was no trouble, but my mother would have tanned both our hides if it had been any other police officer. And that was my last water fight. Sort of turned me off the whole thing.

Rosey is doing better. She still isn't putting full weight on her one back leg yet, but she is testing it out some. Still treating her ears with the medication we have for that. Still giving her oral medication as well. Sneaking that to her in peanut butter on bread treats.

I am glad to hear that she is on the mend.
At the moment I am looking after my mums 2 dogs as well as my 4. My house feels like Battersea Dog Home. My mums dog has a really nasty ear infection which I am having to treat, and she hates it.

What would dog owners do without peanut butter. If I am going to be away for a long period of time I will take the dogs' Kong toys and fill them with a mix of peanut butter and kibble and then freeze it overnight. Keeps the little furballs busy all day trying to get the last little bit of peanut butter out of the bottom of he Kong.

I have never tried my dogs on peanut butter. I dont think Peanut butter is as popular in Britain as it is in the states.
For medication I use pate, or just chuck down their throat if that fails.
As for putting it in the kong, I might give that a go. Is it messy?

Two of my dogs are the same, one of my greyhounds loves his teeth cleaned and will follow me when I do mine, waiting for his turn.

She has ear drops from the vets. It is just fun and games grabbing and pining her down 3 times a day to do it!
Then one of mine gets jealous and wants to have there ears played with.
I do think dogs are just like kids! :)

Haven't seen an animal that is embarassed yet. I have though come in close contact so to speak with a couple deers one night on my way home from work.

We had this cat that was once Tom of the street, a right hard nut, and no cats (or dogs) would mess with him. But there was a rabbit that was of that giant breed that was not scared of him, it was also very much 'the buck', which lived in the garden opposite. How about an attack-trained Doberman wearing a T-shirt, a pair of sweatpants and four ratty old sneakers? My friend did that to his dog when we were kids and the poor thing was humiliated. My dog was even laughing at him.


As for Kongs being messy, not at all. The peanut butter (or you can use anything, really, some people put Easy Cheese (Cheese Wiz) in theirs) stays in and goes from Kong to tongue to tummy.
