If I was Da Man I would have poured the molds before today. :/:
But that part is done and the casting will start tomorrow. I can do that at work AND at home so that should be done by Friday. I have only dealt with the guns and canopies. The wings will be looked at after those parts are done.

A bit off topic but what the heck.....
Both films are great! In the new flick....gotta love the whole squirrel scene!
Burton is a movie GOD!
"I've just decided to switch our Friday schedule to Monday, which means that the test we take each Friday on what we learned during the week will now take place on Monday before we've learned it. But since today is Tuesday, it doesn't matter in the slightest"

Yes, definitely off topic, but if you get a chance to listen to the commentary on the latest release of Wonka on DVD (the old version) its done by all the actors who played the kids in the movie. SUPERB STUFF. Well worth the purchase of the DVD alone.
factoid: The sets for the old movie were designed by Harper Goff, legendary movie designer and the man who created the whole look for Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. The man who gave us the perfect Nautilus!
Now back to our regularly scheduled thread.

TUTORIAL FOR PILOT PAINTING
Are all students and novices present? If all are present, we now begin our lesson on colors and the differences with DeSantos Warrior suit. :salute:
BlueSquad2001
September 10th, 2006, 05:55 PM
The pilot that accompanies the kit, has of course a new and unique bunch of differences. 1st being that the helmet, while maintaing it's traditional egyptian styling, is more angular and the colors are slightly different. 2nd being the flight pressure suit, has a series of tubing running all around in various places that allows comfort with cooling and heating fluids that flow through them. These tubes also assist in "G" forces that the pilot will encounter upon entering planet atmospheres, as they constrict and change the flow of blood and pressure to the pilots brain. It is constructed of a dense ( leathery ) material.
In this 1st pic, the pilot is coated with artists oil color, being burnt sienna.
This is left to dry for about two days, and will really assist in attaining the leathery look.
http://i8.tinypic.com/2wdpwza.jpg
Following that, we mixed the following colors, in equal parts.
1. Model master Acryl (tan)
2. MM 4672 Brass
3. MM Insignia Yellow
And with a filbert brush though small, began painting the helmet, after 3 light coats I was satisfied of the result. Then I applied an extremely thin wash of flat black and allowed this to flow into the recesses.

BlueSquad2001
September 10th, 2006, 06:01 PM
Next we added a tin layer of Model Master Acryl 4674 Leather to his suit and this enhanced the rusty leather look underneath.

BlueSquad2001
September 10th, 2006, 06:06 PM
Oh Yeah...and then we added these 2 colors to the helmets dark areas.
1/2 gloss black and 1/2 sapphire blue. The edge along the top of the helm, begins from the top sides and goes all the way to the other side.
It looks black, but trust me, it's more glossy midnight blue.

September 10th, 2006, 06:29 PM
Next, we begin the laborous task of adding flesh tones, and the brass coloring to the eagle on top of the helm.
The colors and lighting is definately not what I was wanting in this pic, but i'll post some tomorrow so that you all can see the different hues and tones in the flesh.

September 10th, 2006, 06:45 PM
Okay this is going to take some explaining.
http://i5.tinypic.com/2qvbkgo.jpg
The suits center is MM Acryl Leather with a few drops of tan added.
The tubing is Gloss Black wit and equal mix of rust red, to give it a dark gloss.
The wrists and forearm area is the same mix as the suits chest area.
The Brass, Insigniaa Yellow, and Tan mix was delicatly applied to the side lines in the helm.
A mixture of sapphire blue and grey is mixed up and applied to the suits sides, and forearms as well as to the cool oval pressure patch areas on the shoulders.
And last but not least, an equal mix of Semi Gloss Black and Flat Rust was used to paint in between all of the ribbing, and all of the shoulder areas, very similar to TOS Jackets.

September 10th, 2006, 06:55 PM
Oh and by the way, this is just a color guide. I actually have detailed pupils whish are hard to see in the pics as well as cool and warm skin tone variations. I would like to suggest that the suit be weathered slightly, using blk washes to pich out the details and add smudges. Desanto's pilots suits will show wear, and that they have experienced combat.
I'll attempt better pics witht he daylight tomorrow, as some of these do not do justice.

As far as box art is concerned, we are considering different ideas.
No Coby cast numerous parts.
And Coby could've made the master, but unfortunately I did'nt have the kind of money it owuld take to pay him to master the kit. Heck I did'nt even have the money to master the kit! :rotf:

I did mean just the few parts that Coby's been doing for ya....the cannons, canopy and wings. Did he have to make his own masters of those three parts or did you send him your original masters? and is there a rough eta on the wings?

If you have the images on your pc....just upload them when you post...there should be a thing marked [attach files] below in the options area hit that button and you can upload images (as long as if they are not TOO BIG)
The other way is : If you have images already on a personal site or an image blog on the net some place....left click on that image and get its properties at the very bottom and 'copy' that address and paste it here like this"
blablahbleeblee/viper.jpg
That same method works for any image found in google or what ever.
You can get more info from the [faq] link at the top page.

Just to show it's from Yellow Squadron.... (and before you all start explaining to me... I know all the squadrons had the same markings... but I like the idea of having different color markings for the different squadrons)
The Two Seat Recon/Scout Viper..(as I call it) is how I think the two seat Viper should have appeared in the....uugh....Galactica 80 series.
Here's some more for you puroosal...
The Scarlet Viper Mk 2 with the Red Markings was built for a friend as well as a standard Viper Mk 1 . He wanted to have them sit together to show the contrast between the two Vipers.

I'm just going to give Mike all the time he needs cuz I know that he would rather send us something that he and we can be proud of.... rather than just shipping out a box of gargabe....like most garage kit folks do.
Have you guys ever noticed that?......Even dudes that pressure or spin cast, do awesome sculpts even nice box art....just to shove it all in one big zip lock bag, maybe two, toss it in an slightly over sized box and most parts are toast before it gets to your door? ....OR.....they run the kit till the molds or shot and STILL sale it to you with huge holes, pin holes everywhere, some parts not even formed 100%, many too thin to work with?......Man that really chaps my hide!
Viper 04
September 28th, 2006, 11:57 PM
OH yeah.....BUT! on the other hand you get guys like Viper 01 who make VERY NICE CASTINGS!
Gil was cool enough to help me out on my 1/32 Monogram Colonial Viper and sent me two of his resin casted canopy's and WOW! they are very crisp and nice!
Right now I'm CAREFULLY using a battery dremel to dig out recessed areas on the inside where the clear parts will set after I paint it. Good thing I have two cus the first one didn't go so well....I ran a few areas too thin.
THANKS Gil!!!! :viper:

BlueSquad2001.....walks to shop in backyard, looks around the bench and smiles with all teeth bared. Walks back inside the house to the living room. Lots of boxes stacked, examines contents and again, smiles big and wide.
Walks upstairs to the drawing board, and smiles at small stacks of paper. Very Good! He thinks to himself.
Walks back down stairs and out the backdoor to the shop, opens the door, picks up large box, smiles once more, looks both ways carefully out the shop door, and feeling safe, makes mad dashed run to the backdoor of the house as all dogs in backyard stare in bewilderment at the unexplained and sinister events unfolding before their very eyes!!!!
It's gonna be a FINE DAY!

Really, let's get this right, step into the classroom children.
Okay, now here's the "real" story. Rob, at Sci-Fi Models.com is the person that (created) the Mk.IV title for this Viper variant. But, Tom DeSanto and I discussed the fact that he did'nt even know who named it the Mk.IV until Rob, who's a friend of mine discussed it. But Tom wants all to know that this Viper is the true Mk.II variant and natural evolution from the Mk.I on TOS!
So once again, this is the Mk.I. No 2, 3, or 4 anywhere. :D
This is FACT. And wanted you to begin to callit that, allright class? No repeat after me...."This is the DeSanto Viper Mk.II not the Mk."Frackin' 4!"
That's good class, now recess everyone.

Here are some pics of the engine section and front intakes for the "KUHN Viper!" :D
I have many more to post and some newer, but after I sleep! Yes Kurt...I'm still awake. :wtf:
The 1st pic here is the detailing of the flush vent ribs being installed.
http://i9.tinypic.com/2ducod4.jpg
Next is the fitting of the engine cans, and I decided to take it further with the detailing, by actually using several different sizes of Dremel engraving bits and cutting down deep and up under the details to give more realistic depth.
Then the final pic is just the begining of paint detail, much more to do to finish this up, but it is the hardest part to make look believeable.

Ya know, i've been going over the last 10 pages or so and i gotta say i'm totally blown away by the creativity on display here. You Viper 1 and BlueSquad2001 have alot to be proud of.
I'm almost ashamed to be around such talent. A whole bunch of "Titon's" have exploded onto the scene in the past couple of years on CF!
Making your own Colonial Vipers with touches of your own and showing them off to fandom only furthers the fact that this sleeping giant always did inspire folks. I think i've now gotta save some pennies to place a few orders in a couple of months time by Christmas.
I'm still surprised that you guys make your own canopy's with Viper pilots in them? Makes you wonder how and why the official Revell Monogram models of the Colonial Vipers didn't do this at all?
I'd love to place an order for a DeSanto style Viper from Bluesquad2001. And perhaps two Scarlet model Vipers or their 'modified' parts etc, from Viper 1 (one "Scarlet red" and the other gray with "blue" markings etc?).
But don't hold me to that just yet, need to get the cash first? ;)
I've waited so long to do my own Viper model up. Cos i wanted a Viper with a Colonial Warrior that you could see sitting inside the cockpit. Hope news of those official TOS Galactica models come out soon enough. But i'd really like to get DeSanto Viper and Scarlet Viper sitting pretty on my shelf after seeing the passion you talented bunch have at building these ships! Don't think they'd put out the DeSanto or Scarlet ones officially?
Viper 1, i said before and i'll say it again. Your magnificent stuff looks like its ready to be filmed in a actual production!

Hi,
I'm new, only signed up today.
Please forgive my ignorance, I didn't read back through the whole 36 pages of this thread, I just scanned through it quickly. What kits have been released or are ready for pre-order?
I was toying with the idea of scratchbuilding Galactica models, but now that there seems to be offering out there, I'd very much to know more?
If there's too much to tell then just tell me to get off my backside and read through the whole thread.
Thanks.

Hi there and welcome to the club.
Hope you have a good time here. And I will offer my help on any subject of Galactica you would like help with. just PM me and I'll do what I can.
Now .....that the niceties are out of the way......
It has been almost three weeks now since I was told by Mike himself that the DeSanto Viper kits were shipping out. He also told me that he would call me personally on the phone to let me know that my two (2) kits had gone out so I could look for them in the mail. Nothing!!!! I have heard absolutely nothing.
I would like my kits. As, I'm sure, others on here that have ordered and not recieved them, would like them.
To the few of you that have recieved them.... great and cudos to you..... I am beginning to feel that you are the only ones that are going to get them.

I am waiting as well. I loved Mike's post about going to the post office and feeling good. He made it sound like he shipping dozens of kits out. Living room full of boxes etc. I thnk he was not telling the whole story there. Sadly I think he only shipped a few out.
No posts. No returns on phone calls. No nothing. I am also starting to think we were all RIPPED OFF. :thumbdown
While I hope for the best, and hope all is well over at Michaels, each day that passes with no communication and no box just makes me more irrate.
Still hopeful....but the idea of building the kit is becoming sour to me now.

For whats its worth... I heard from him back on Oct 19th. This is what he emailed me...
We got about half of them out. We're still pouring molds to complete more kits. They have a lot of parts and the boxes are addressed and sitting all over the living room, each partially filled with parts. We've had a lot of rain which has slowed things down. We can't pour the resin in high humidity. I hope tomorrow
will be ideal for pouring! Michael will post on the fleets and RPF when we
ship again!
I know it has been ten days since he emailed me, but I didn't know if this info would help? :/:
Just to change the subject... anyone building a Galatica kit? I believe at an earlier posting, there was talk of a 24' or 40" kit?

It does... to a certain extent... Starmanmm.
But to not post something on here to let us all, that have ordered and payed for our kits, know what is going on is not understandable.
I do know that Mike's still around..... A friend got a responce from him on one of his auctions on eBay..... yesterday!!!!!. So, at least we know nothing tragic has happened.
Mike....... talk to us..... just let us know whats going on. You are burning bridges here. We have given you our money in good faith. Have some respect for our trust in you for our orders, and tell us what's going on.

So he has time to sell items on Ebay....but no time to take care of folks who sent him months ago!!! A little communication would go VERY far here. But I guess when you have someone's money you really don't need to communicate with them.
What I REALLY do not understand is why he is still pouring resin! I mean what was he doing while he was waiting for the parts from Gordon? Or while he was waiting for the parts from Coby?
Jeesh he made it seem like all the kits were boxed up and ready to go. Now he cannot pour resin because its raining?
Not hopeful at all.

Folks,
Recent postings on this thread have caused concern amongst the Fleets Staff. I will be contacting Mike and Terri, via PM and email, and requesting that they provide you folks with updates regarding your purchase arrangments.
Going forward, the Staff would appreciate it immensely, if feedback were conducted via the PM and/or email route. Colonial Fleets does not have any vested interest in their business and only provided space, in threads like this, which could facilitate the business dealings and help to "spread the word".
We do appreciate the patience that you all have shown and ask for a wee bit more while we do whatever we can to help resolve the situation for you.

You'll have to clarify that statement Dilbertman. (What next ship ? )
For all else here....I was just reading the RPF board thread on our vipers here and there is a Steve over there that evedentaly talked to Mike and Terri on Sat.
The story is, (from his posting) that because of bad weather Mike has not been able to pour parts until this last weekend. And he was told...(again by them and this is his word, second hand) that the next batch of our kits were to go out either today..(monday) or Tuesday.
Let us all pray to the Lords that this is true.
I'd still like the Admin here to contact Mike and Terri and confirm all this for all of us here. Since they seem reluctant to at least update us themselves.

You can think what you like, your head is playing tricks on you. We have had some problems, and this is not a self help board, so I' not bringing them up here. Now, go take some pills, have a drink ;) and chill. You viper will be there soon.

Okay... Michael's back. A little brash, but he is back and laying it out for us. I just spoke with him via phone. Just now.
The rain is, in fact, causing him troubles with the parts he's casting. He's operating out of a garage-like structure with no fashion of drying the air out. He is also taking good heed of my advice on working with urethanes and is trying to maintain a safe workspace with plenty of ventilation and such.
I belive that he is working with all due diligence to get the kits done. But Mother Nature is throwing him yet another curveball. If you work with pouring resins, you'll know what the effect of excess moisture is on your casting. It comes out weird and lumpy and soft with masses of bubbles.
Bottom line: Michael WILL get your kit(s) out to you. He's not ripping you off. He's just cursed.

Michael,
Thanks for the update, but not for the attitude. You caused the BS by not living up to your word and not keeping the folks who paid for kits updated on the situation.
A little communication goes along way. With no info, and no updates one can only make assumptions based on past experiences with other garage kit sellers who never made good on any promise.
And as for my britches being in a wad.....man...knock it off. Do you always have to have a condecending attitude? Put yourself in your customers shoes. You would think you would be a bit nicer considering the circumstances.
But hey...I am only a paid in full customer :D

Okay folks....
We've gotten communication from Mike as to the status of shipments, etc. which is fine.
As for the "tone" of the conversation on both sides, I feel it necessary to point out that this is NOT how we communicate with one another at Colonial Fleets. If Mike has issues with some of the messages posted in his absence, then he should either adress them in a more civil manner, or do it by PM if civility is not the order of the day. The same goes for everyone else - if they have gripes with how Mike is handling things on his end, that's not what this board is for.
Any further transgressions of this kind will not be rewarded kindly.
Play nice and now back to the conversation at hand (refer to the topic heading in case you've forgotten).

You stole my thunder. ;)
But, thanks because it wouldn't have been very pleasant.
The next comment is directed squarely at Mike:
Work on your people-skills. If I was one of your 'paid in full' customers and had to tolerate that barrage of self-righteous indignation that you exploded with a few threads back, I'd have told you where to go, what to do with it, and would have requested a full refund.
A simple heads up about the production delays and weather factors would have gone a long ways toward easing your customers' concerns and would have taken you no longer than a visit or 2 to eBay.

For Mike,
As one who has spent many years in the customer service field I'd like to offer a piece of friendly advice. No matter what the manufacturers unforseen circumstances may be, the *customer is always right*. They come first, and paid in full customers go straight to the top of the list.
In other words, bending over backwards speaks volumes, irregardless if you cannot meet the demand then and there or not. If they are given the impression you do in fact CARE about their purchase, and are working to resolve the problem or delay on your end, they will be patient.
Courtesy works both ways, but moreso on yours. You have their money.
I hope you keep that in mind.

Thank You Bryan. I understand your point and except that. The truth is if someone fails to use common sense and throws acusations at me on a board that is a real honest and friendly board, they have problems coming that won't fade quickly. I have been late but never dishonest. All that have ordered from me have my number and personal e-mail address, I suggest that they use it. The newbies on here are the only ones posting such things and it would appear that they have nothing better to do than stir trouble. I'm late, so what. But I'm not dishonest. It's a proven fact.
Thank You again Bryan. I appreciate you. :salute:

People of the Fleets.........LOL! That's too funny.
I have to address this one last time, and no more.
This project as Gordon has put it has been cursed :D with being late, bad molds, death, lost parts in the mail, :muffit: and bad weather, just to name a few.
All vipers are being shipped, all will get their orders. The 1st, will be 1st, and the last will be last. No thefts here, no need for accusations or slinging negative thoughts. Theres no room for it.
This project has also been a blessing and alot of them. Coming together with Cobywan, making friends with almost all who ordered and new contacts, as well as learning from the whole process.
The friends that have been 1st on the list are the ones that have the most right to "fuss" about where their kits are. And they have been kind and easy to communicate with. Thank You, you know who you are. Gordon, Peter Noble, Barry, John, Dilbertman, and the list goes on. You are friends and appreciated.
From here on out, this thread is about positive things. It should be about build-up questions and people wanting to post pics of their progress.
I'll not entertain another accusation, nor will I answer it. Save it. Those who have an order will get their viper, those that have not and are just posting their opinions are noted, but not taken seriously. ;)
Further more, I'll answer each question placed towards me in a civil and friendly manner, anything other than that will usually be met with :barf:
Well LOL! You get the point. I'm not doing this for my health or sanity, because the latter is GONE! :rotf:
I appreciate all that have ordered and rest assured you will get your order. They are late. And there is nothing to do about it, but ship them as fast as we can. Maybe in the next shippment, they will all be gone and all orders filled, if not, then the day after will ship more.
I'm done with the bickering, and business opinions. I'll handle it as it comes. If those that want to dish out opinions new me, they know all they have to do is e-mail or call and their answers will be there for them. I'm friendly, but I draw the line at telling me what to do. :D
Thanks to the fleet moderators. Mainly Brian. I respect you, and look forward to future communication. You have been kind. :salute:
Enough, now back to harmony.
By the way, if you have anything negative to add, save it. It'll be met with just nothing, I'm not wasting my time, and my time means cash. $$$$$ :D

Hi my name is Barry and I have pre-paid for my Viper way back at the end of Nov 05.
If any one has a right to complain it’s us guys that pre-paid immediately.
I’m really not a patient guy at heart but feel no need to complain, even though it’s been quite the haul.
I know it’s been a long wait for everyone that has been waiting for this kit to materialize and arrive on your doorstep.
I plan to wait and not sweat about it because I have so many other models piled up that this kit will only add to the “to do pile”.
As I wait I am busy with a lit R/M Raider that is nearing completion and a newly delivered Wishbone fighter (Y-Wing) from SSM.
I could go on and on with the kits that are waiting to be built, so if I have to wait a bit longer for a kit that is only going to be added to a host of other kits waiting, so be it.
I’ll just sit at my hobby desk and keep building what’s there.
Now that’s just me I don’t expect anyone else to feel that way or expect him or her to think the same way I do.
Mike and Terri are great people and I expect them to deliver on what they said they would.
Be it now or later, it’s no big deal to me, as long as I get it.
In my opinion, Mike should have a list that states who is waiting and who’s model is in current transit.
This way everyone knows where he or she stands and there’s no disputing it.
AGAIN, I DON’T EXPECT ANYONE TO FEEL THIS WAY OR THINK THE WAY I DO.

My TWO cents
I have been in this one for the long hall. Mike told me I was the third person to order the DeSanto Viper. If any one should bitch it should be me. But, I know Mike, been to his place for a visit this summer. Him and Terri are good people. When he thinks he's being attacked he will attack back. Yes, this is later then all of us would like. But there is light at the end of the tunnel, lets hope it's not a train. Part of the is due the Tom DeSanto himself, he sent Mike the latest designs for the Viper which had Mike redo part of what he had started. Latest happens to everyone, when did a comicbook not come out late. Lets not forgot that Mike also lost his best friend this year to. Looking forward to getting my viper soon.

I appreciate this but, like I mentioned, all folks wanted, was to hear something. I think most could have accepted the fact that there may be a delay, regardless of the reason but, no one heard anything. THAT was the problem and things were exacerbated when Mike came back and reacted in the manner that we've seen in this thread. Folks may have been out of line for being accusatory and Mike was out of line for blasting off at them. In other words, wrongs were done on both sides.

It is a perrennial problem with this medium of communication.
One cannot always determine the tenor of a posting or a response and smileys don't always make good bedfellows.
Mike, I gotta say, as a friend, you jump to offense very quickly. And you waste no time bringing all guns to bear. But on the other hand, patience can be a premium commodity for others as well. Especially when an investment of real $$ is involved.
Frankly, I have to agree with BST. Communication is the ONLY thing that would have headed this off. We all have lives outside of this community and I know that it's not always convenient to post every step of the way, but sometimes it is necessary. That's my two cubits.
So...who's for a game of pyramid? :salute:

Like Mike said and has been suggested in this thread (I think I said it pages back), if you've got a concern, take it to email, telephone or PM.
CF wasn't set up to be a site for commerce, it's here to discuss Battlestar Galactica. I'd suggest if anyone wants to sell anything in the future, whether it be model kits or their BSG collection, they do it in the merchandise section with their contact information and then the mods close and sticky the initial post and put a disclaimer in there to say that all matters pertaining to the post are the responsibility of the original poster and not CF.
This project's had more than its fair share of bad luck, but even so I still haven't had to wait on this project as long as one kit I ordered from another seller, and another where the kit was cancelled completely!
I really think it's going to be worth the wait for everyone.
I also think everybody involved as learned something from the experience and things should run much more smoothly for project two.
Keep the (DeSanto) Vipers flying!
Best,
Peter

I have to chime in on this...... BST is absolutely correct!!!!
The entire problem was the lack of simple comunication.
And as for Mike himself saying that all we needed to do was to call him or e-mail him....... well, I personally called him at least three times, and left messages everytime asking for nothing more then some kind of update on what was happening. CSR did the same thing and unfortunately had a phone # that did not work. There were e-mails sent. And there were pleads on this very thread by myself and CSR for the smallest of posts to at least let us know what the delay was.
Everything went unanswered.
The phone calls were not returned, the e-mails were not answered, the posts were not addressed.
Until the Moderator and Administrator sent thier own PM to Mike...then we finally hear from him.
What would anybody start to think with that level of non-comunication?
And then for Mike to come back on here and go on the attack, instead of just saying..... Ok guys...I know I've been out of touch, and I'm sorry, but here's what's going on...and here's what held us up.
We are all understanding people in this GK community. All we need to remain understanding is simple communication.
I pour resin. I know and understand what the inherent problems are. And if I was told that, then that would have been ok.
But I was never told that. My calls were not returned.
So, to put this all to rest...... I am glad we know ...now.... what is going on, I'm glad the kits are going out again. And I'm glad to be getting mine....(still watching the post)
But, to reiterate the Moderator and the Admin..... communication goes along way.

OK, so now we know. People make mistakes. Mike should have communicated more. I think that is clear enough.
I also recognize that if I were busy with a lot of issues (which I am) and had people suggesting I was a thief that I'd be showing a bit of the dark side of the force as well. I think its also noteworthy to point out that Mike doesn't have the built up scar tissue most of the rest of us have from our BBoard experiences. He should have taken a more level approach when he responded but IMO, he shouldn't have been having to respond to attacks on his integrity. This isn't the Skiffy board and IMO, these issues are usually handled a lot better by the Fleets' membership. I think this communication failure is the responsibility of more than just one person.
Personally, I have mixed feelings about Peter's suggestion. On one hand, I can see strong merit in the approach. On the other, I'm a bit reluctant to hamper anything that helps promote the real Battlestar Galactica series. The conversation has kept some additional focus on DeSanto's efforts and I see that as a good thing.
Regardless, I want to see people's build-ups in the art in progress section.

I agree, it's not perfect. I was looking at it from a modding/owners perspective as the dispute would have really nothing to do with the site other than that those involved are members (and it being a potential pain the backside to deal with). At the same time like you said, you don't want to stifle the endeavour either, especially if the vendor hasn't got their own website, it maybe the only way to get their project noticed.
Best,
Peter

Ok, what is project two ?

I'll be posting a list of all the vipers that have shipped and what is about to be shipped int he next day or so. As soon as we have time to go through everything, and Terri asnd I are not so swamped with regular work and home repair guys. I don't have time post more detail now as I'm on a tight schedule, with things to get molded, painted, and shipped, this means your vipers also. So the less I talk here the better I can concentrate. Leave me alone. Nicely said of course.:salute:

For all who might not have seen it in the other thread. This is my Monogram Raider that I've been accurizing. It's finally painted, (Automotive Medium Gray)
the canopy and engine cowling have been painted dark gray. Panel lines have been picked out with a drafting pencil. will be wshing it with acrylic oily black next after painting on the markings.
Hope you enjoy.

And it looks like good ol Mike has pulled another disapearing trick on us.
It'll probably take another e-mail and PM from the Admin to get him to answer again.

I've emailed Mike & Teri 3 days ago and still no response.
I'm coming to the end of my line with this project and all its empty promises and delay after delay after delay.
Mike, I’m getting painfully close to asking for my money back.
You can't keep telling people it's on its way and then go silent without any kind of information or confirmation emails stating it has been shipped.
Lets put the shoe on the other foot.
How would Mike like it if he sent his artwork out to a buyer that kept making excuses as to why the payment hasn't arrived.
I'm more then sure Mike would not be too happy.
Now you kind of understand how we feel, please end the delays or give me a refund.
Thanks, Barry.

As we've pointed out earlier in this thread. Colonial Fleets is not a commercial site and we've asked folks that have placed orders with Mike & Terry (or any other vendors posting on this site) to take their business discussions away from CF and the discussion forums and contact the vendor directly.
Any further complaints, gripes, grumbles or what have you that appear in this thread will be summarily deleted without discussion or debate and the offending poster will receive a formal warning.
This is the last time we're gonna address this issue in this thread - I mean it this time!

Chris (and everyone else) -
As I pointed out, Colonial Fleets is not supposed to be a "contact list" for Mike, Terri and the items they are producing. I asked people to take their comments, problems and questions regarding their orders off of the board to either email or PM, but that doesn't seem to sink in very well.
I'm going to close the thread to further comments until either Mike and Terri have updates regarding their progress producing new BSG related material or at least something closer to the topic of this thread.
Note to Mike and Terri - PM me or one of the other staff members when you have updates and we will consider re-opening the thread so you can post them.

Okay.....
I've received a request from Mike to reopen the thread. He stated that he and Terri have updates, pics and other items of discussion that are relevant to the topic of the thread. I have one proviso - and this goes for both sides.....NO discussion of individual orders, complaints about orders, responses to complaints about orders, etc....
This topic thread is for discussing the devleopment of the items that Mike and Terri are producing. Unless you have something relevant in that vein of discussion, DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD. If you have questions that aren't relevant to the discussion at hand, such inquiries should be made either by PM or email. Oh, and a non-response to either does not mean you have permission to post about it in-thread either. As I said before, Colonial Fleets is not a commercial site and we do not want to get dragged into the middle of such a venture.
Any off topic posts will be deleted without discussion - if there is a continuing rash of posts that are off topic, I will have no other recourse but to close the thread permanently.
Now, play nice and stick to the rules of this thread....

NO! And you're not going to be told again. You were clearly told and ordered by Brian "Gemini 1999" To speak NO LONGER ABOUT THIS, and I'm sorry but the consequences will fall on you only for breaking this rule. This thread is about building, and sharing of information about the model. NO ORDERS DISCUSSED !

Okay......that's enough of that!
Mike - I have one message for you. Leave the moderating of the discussion threads to the staff. When I said that I didn't want any off topic discussion, I meant that for everyone, not just people that have purchased products from you. I also stated that you were to use this thread to post updates and for people to discuss those updates, etc.
When I reopened the thread, you told me that you had updates - that was last weekend and I've yet to see anything significant in that regard, other than a post that said you were too busy to post updates.
I'm closing this thread until you have something significant to post - you will have to submit those updates through one of the Administrators - either Dawg or BST.
The staff will be reviewing this thread and how to proceed from this point on. We will contact you when we reach a decision. Basically, don't contact us, we'll contact you.
Sincerely,

Mike,
I will thank you to leave the moderating to the Moderators. Then, you can concentrate your energies on fulfilling your customer's orders.
Please communicate any and all order-related information to them via email.
To any of Mike and Terri's customers:
Please communicate any questions, etc via email. There will be no further conversation on this thread. Additionally, if any new threads are opened regarding this SAME subject, they will be immediately closed and the thread starter will face the real possibility of being banned from the forum.

The Staff has been discussing methods for 'facilitating' the merchandising aspect but, no decisions have been finalized. The scenario played out on this thread will form the basis for whatever our decision happens to be.
We'll keep you posted.
