That sound's familer , is a TV show or Film. it sound like something that someone on this side of the pond would say, would it be a film made on this side of the pond and not the USA.??? If it is I have an idea!!! :)

It is a film..and you have the right idea, Potemkin. Let's hear it.

Sorry to say, but all other answers thus far have been incorrect. ;)

Remember, it is a film...if this will help at all, I think mid-90's was the release era.

Almost all star cast. Great acting...great conflict,...great moral dillemas

Again, my apologies....but that is also wrong.
This movie takes place during a very feudal era, in a country on your side of the pond, Potemkin. Hopefully, this dialogue might help.

I will provide another line. :)

Dialogue between two men:
MAN 1: Let us keep these matters simple. You are indebted to me, on that we are agreed?

MAN 2: We are, m'lord.

MAN 1: Know you the Duke of Argyl?

MAN 2: By his reputation alone, m'lord.

MAN 1: My report is that he is a Jacobyte, and that he should arise for the Stewart should he ascend the throne.

MAN 2: These are intelligences unknown to me, m'lord.

MAN 1: They are known to you now.

MAN 2: I am uncertain of Your Lordship's meaning.

MAN 1: Damn it, man. You and your clan are Jacobytes, bred to the bone. Argyl is nothing to you. I want your word against him. Give it, and we will come to some reckoning on what you owe me.

MAN 2: (hesitant) I can be of no assistance to Your Lordship in this matter concerning the Duke of Argyl.

MAN 1: (hissing) You owe me!

MAN 2: I owe you money, and nothing more. What you have asked of me is as far beneath me as it should be with Your Lordship.

MAN 1: (steaming) You mispeak yourself, sir.

MAN 2: 'Tis the Marquis of Montrose who has misspoke himself, to ask my purjury against his enemies. (looks at man 3) Leave the blade be, sir. This is not your quarrel.

(It has been a few years since I have seen this movie......so I am hoping my recollection of the lines has been accurate.)

Respectfully, and hoping this helps,

I realize that this is rather atypical of a Klingon to say, but I also do not mind the occasional chick flick.

When I used to be in a band in Kalamazoo, MI (yes, there is actually a place called Kalamazoo :D ), I was staying with this girl who was basically roommate/landlady for myself and the guitar player. Our bass player had come over to stay with us for the night because we were prepping for a Colorado tour.

Our bass player could be the most grating of personalities though.

Myself, Lisa, my guitar player, and a few of our friends were sitting in the living room watching "Ever After." We were really enjoying the movie....except for the bass player who decided to really be a stick in the mud, and groan "Cry baby part!" whenever certain emotional scenes came into play.

Needless to say, he quickly found himself chastised, (and damn near ostracized) for his lack of consideration for those of us that were actually enjoying the movie. To which he said: "Hey, I think I have a right to state an opinion." (such an ignorant arse sometimes). I said: "That may be...but you do not have to rain on everyone else's parade just because you want to IMPOSE your views."

Anyhoo...just thought I would state, rather un-Klingony, that I kinda like chick flicks too :D

Respectfully,

You weren't kidding when you said it wasn't going to be too hard...

That line was spoken by Ming the Merciless (played by Max Von Sydow) in the 1980 remake of Flash Gordon.

It has recently been released on DVD, and I bought it the day it came in.
The comentary reveals some interesting stuff, both about the movie and the war.
They showed it on TV when I was young, I loved it, even if it was incredibly long, and every time I see it I just want to reach in and smack Scarlett. She didn't deserve Rhett.
Maybe some day I'll read the book and see if I still want to smack her, but according to the commentary, the movie is pretty true to the book.

Gunstar Aries
December 3rd, 2004, 02:49 AM
Before LOTR came out, the original Conan was one of the best fantasy films out there. More an amalgamation and re-editing of any of Howard's stories, it still captured the character very well. And the orchestral score was outstanding. One of my favorite CD's, in fact.

Conan is still tops in the 'low fantasy' category for me. (Think Fafner and the Grey Mouser, Thieves World, if you're familiar with them...) Basically, low fantasy is set in a world that's a dangerous place, the more base human instincts prevail, no elves, dwarves, no heros singing happy songs while the wood nymphs and cherubs stretch ribbons in front of them.

LOTR is a great example of high fantasy. Elves, dwarves, etc, the main characters are motivated by a heroic ideal, story is epic in scope, etc.

So while we're in the fantasy realm, how about this one:

"I will need battle lords such as you!!"

Hint: it's from the movie that also has this quote: "I will build... a round table....and a Hall around the table. And a castle around the hall!!"

Man! Can't believe I'm having a disagreement with Shining Star.... :/:

Excalibur is a favorite here too Julix. Arthur yelling at Uryens, I think. Nigel Terry as Arthur and Nicol Williamson as Merlin are both fantastic! And a younger Patrick Stewart as Lyon Degrantz, before he got suckered into Picard or played Perfesser Clean opposite Gandalf...

"Back on Earth, that's what we call 'meat'."

I'm sorry, I haven't been in this thread lately....

This is another one of my favorite movies - the film is the Academy Award winner "Moonstruck" which had an all star cast with Cher, Nicolas Cage, Olympia Dukakis and Danny Aiello.

whew................Thanks Bryan and you are corret!!!!!!I love this scence because Olympia has just finiished questioning Danny as to why men want two women(her husband is cheating) and she is sure it is because they fear death and Danny gives a cute story about men chasing women because they were made from adam's rib and there is a hole where there used to be something....so she says...why would a man need more than one woman and Danny says maybe because he fears death and she is so happy because this was her theory. Then her husband walks in (from a night with the other woman) and she delivers the quote!!!!!!!love it, if you guys haven't seen it-it is good

Hello everyone -

Sorry, I've been kind of busy the last few days, but I've got a quote (finally)!

Here it is:

"Regrets are a waste of time. They're the past crippling you in the present."

Good luck!

A hint.....?

You've got to be kidding!

Flamingo Girl knows already.

I think that she should give it a stab. She doesn't suck at this as much as she thinks.

C'mon, you folks aren't even trying - I haven't even heard a guess yet!

One hint - It's another "chick flick"
