Guidelines from the 'Scapers

dvo has assembled the following guidelines for letter writing that were employed by the Save Farscape folks during the successful Farscape campaign.

These are important guidelines, and they have been adapted for our purposes. Please keep them in mind as you send out your letters (we need to avoid attacking the miniseries, and focus on the positive goal of achieving a continuation).

A few quick DO'S and DON'TS to remember when writing snail mail, email telephoning or Faxing to bring a Battlestar Galactica movie continuation based on the 1978-79 ABC series.

• Let the recipient know Glen A. Larson owns the theatrical rights, he paid for them after a legal settlement with Universal Studios.

• DO write a short, polite, businesslike letter. BE POSITIVE, negative feedback only makes them angry! They DO read all of our letters, e-mails, postcards, faxes, and everything, but they will THROW OUT anything stupid like a Languatron post!

• DO tell them who you are, you're full name, age group, where you live, and why you would love to see a Battlestar Galactica movie based on TOS, and WHY you want to see it revived. Be sure to clarify that you mean TOS.

• DON'T tell them that you are writing as part of a campaign - they want to hear from individuals,not groups.

• DO let them know about the petitions and the other efforts the fans are making on the show's behalf.

• DO get your friends and family to write.

• DO let them know that there is a worldwide fandom for a Glen A. Larson's Battlestar Galactica CONTINUATION based movie.

• DO talk about going to conventions, the excitement of meeting cast/crew, or buying Battlestar Galactica TOS continuation based movie related merchandise.

Very Important!
• When calling any of the voicemail or programming lines, do not be afraid to leave a name and e-mail address. Give them the opportunity to contact you.

• Also start the message off on a positive note about how much you would like a Glen A. Larson owned theatrical Battlestar Galactica TOS continuation.
