There are a lot of spoilers floating around, but the new season is about to begin in a few weeks. Then there will be plenty to discuss and speculate about.

Default Stargate SG-1 Season 8 SPOILERS!!!

SEASON 8‎

July 9, 2004:The New Order (1): Baal has stepped into Anubis' power vacuum, ‎taking over his powerbase of super-soldiers and he's kicking butt, and the ‎System Lords are reeling and they come to SGCs for help, because we have a ‎common enemy. Yu and a couple of new System Lords: Camulus and Amaterasu. Yu has ‎fallen on hard times, and his First Prime does a lot of the speaking for him. So ‎these three representatives come to convince us to help them take down Baal. ‎But, of course, we have problems of our own -- the biggest being that we can’t ‎use the weapon. We've used up all the energy (or most of it), and O’Neill is the ‎only one who can use it. The System Lords noticed that we wiped out Anubis’ ‎fleet in five minutes or less," and the other System Lords are interested in how ‎we managed to do that. That's one issue that has to be dealt with." But the ‎arrival of the System Lords and the threat of Baal is just one side of the ‎story. SG-1 goes in search of their long-absent allies, the Asgard, in the hope ‎that they can save Colonel O'Neill's life from the knowledge of the Ancients ‎that has taken over his mind ("Lost City"). What they discover is that the ‎highly-evolved Replicators -- left in a time-dilation prison in Season Six's ‎‎"Unnatural Selection" -- have escaped. And the Asgard are about to launch yet ‎another plan to try and stop them.‎
July 18, 2004:The New Order (2): O'Neill is thawed out but retains the knowledge ‎of the Ancients, promoted to General O'Neill will replace General Hammond as the ‎commanding officer of the S.G.C.. Dr. Elizabeth Weir, given command of the ‎S.G.C. will depart to command the Atlantis team in another galaxy. Jack’s ‎promotion will stick him behind a desk much of the time, something that was ‎difficult to do with Jack still on SG-1. SG-1 will eventually become a 3-person ‎team, with O'Neill occasionally joining them for field missions. Japanese sun ‎goddess Amaterasu joins the Stargate pantheon. ‎
July 25, 2004:Lockdown:The S.G.C. is put under quarantine after a mysterious ‎infection leaves a Russian officer in the infirmary. The disease may not be a ‎disease at all. The spirit of the evil Anubis which is loose on the base, ‎possessing various humans including O’Neill in order to try and make a break ‎through the Stargate. In an attempt to contain the ghostly menace, O'Neill ‎closes the Stargate and orders a lockdown of the base. One of the most decorated ‎fliers in Russian military history, with 23 years of experience in the service, ‎Colonel Dimitri Karpov, is introduced here. He requests a transfer to Stargate, ‎but is put off by O’Neill’s refusal to put him on a Stargate team until he has ‎more experience in offworld missions. Later, as Anubis tries to thwart O'Neill ‎and use various human forms to gain admission to the Stargate, Karpov makes the ‎ultimate sacrifice to defeat the ghostly menace. ‎
August 2, 2004:Avatar:Teal’c finds himself in a dangerous predicament from which ‎only Daniel can save him. Teal’c is trapped in a virtual reality simulation, in ‎which he must defend the base from a Goa'uld super-soldier incursion.‎
August 12, 2004:Zero Hour: O'Neill and the S.G.C. must prepare for a state visit ‎from the President, but face never-ending catastrophes -- Delegates from the ‎planet Amra have arrived on the base to negotiate trade with Earth, but find ‎themselves held against their will by the S.G.C. (for reasons yet unknown). SG-‎‎1 and SG-3 disembark on a joint mission, but SG-1 is captured by the powerful ‎Goa'uld System Lord Baal, who wishes to exchange his prisoners for a man named ‎Camulus (Steve Bacic) O'Neill has granted asylum on Earth. Jack has to get use ‎to being an administrator, planning menus instead of shooting at bad guys. At ‎the end of his rope, what may be waiting for the President is O’Neill’s ‎resignation. ‎
August 19, 2004:Icon: An accident leaves Daniel Jackson is trapped off-world in ‎the middle of what appears to be some kind of holy war triggered by SG-1’s ‎arrival through the Stargate. Worse, a hostile nation is poised to attack if the ‎religious zealots are victorious. Refusing to abandon the people to their fate, ‎a segment of the planet's population who still worship the Goa'uld as gods -- ‎though the Goa'uld have apparently not been to this world in recent memory. ‎Daniel seeks refuge with the alien woman Leda.‎
August 26, 2004:Covenant:Alex Colson, the charismatic CEO of Colson Industries ‎and an old friend of Samantha Carter, makes a televised announcement -- more of ‎an ultimatum to the world's major governments, actually. He has proof that ‎aliens exist and have been at work on Earth, and if the governments of the world ‎don't come forward and disclose it within 24 hours, he will. Carter is ordered ‎to take him off-world to the Alpha Site, in the hopes of convincing him that the ‎existence of technologically-advanced (and hostile) alien races is a secret ‎worth keeping. Colson hopes that the revelation ushers in a new era for ‎humankind, while his friend Vogler worries about the mass hysteria it's sure to ‎cause. Carter ‎
becomes embroiled in a sinister conspiracy there are more forces at work here. ‎A shadow group, apparently not connected with the government, also believes that ‎this revelation shouldn't come out -- and use blackmail to try and orchestrate ‎the financial downfall of Colson's businesses, leading to the implication that ‎he’s made everything up as a publicity stunt or a way to manipulate the ‎government for assistance. The episode deals with the responsibility of a ‎
government: What responsibility does it have to tell the people all the truth ‎when it feels that the truth might not be best for them to know? In other words, ‎if the truth is out there, if there is something going on, to what extent does ‎the government have a right to decide that it's better for the people of the ‎planet of Earth to not be aware of this particular fact?‎
September 3, 2004:Affinity:Teal’c moves out of the SGC and tries to build a life ‎as a 'regular' human being. Teal’c discovers that everyday life out among the ‎Tau'ri isn’t all that different than what he’s been watching on his TV. His sexy ‎next-door neighbor Krista James has an abusive boyfriend who resents Teal’c’s ‎interference in their lives. Oh, and Teal’c talks funny, too. Typical of large, ‎interfering guys who just moved from Mozambique...When Krista finds Teal’c ‎performing his Jaffa tai chi, she appeals to him for help in teaching her self-‎defense and the sparks fly between them. However, it seems Krista’s old ‎boyfriend is a habit she can’t quite shake and Teal’c is soon embroiled in his ‎own real-life murder mystery. Meanwhile, Carter is wondering about her life and ‎future with Pete. The risks she takes in gate travel, involving him in that, ‎kids...Can she really see herself taking maternity leave? Dropping off her baby ‎in daycare before gating off into the unknown? ‎
September 10, 2004:Sacrifices:Teal’c is reunited with Ishta as a large army of ‎Jaffa move against her former master, the Goa'uld Moloc, on the planet Goranak. ‎But Ishta is captured by Moloc, whom she once served as temple high priestess. ‎Now, Moloc has discovered that she is the leader of the Hak'tyl resistance ‎‎('Birthright'). Teal’c intends to rescue his beloved Ishta, with the S.G.C. ‎providing a missile attack through the gate (a maneuver seen in 'The Sentinel') ‎as a distraction. Ishta is mercilessly tortured with a hand device by Moloc, who ‎takes great pleasure in trying to extract from her some measure of repentance ‎for her 'sins.' She remains mentally strong in her defiance, though her body is ‎severely weakened by the torture and her need for tretonin. When Teal’c’s ‎attempt does not go according to plan, he must improvise a new strategy to try ‎and free Ishta.‎
September 17, 2004:Endgame: 'Endgame,' will involve ‘the heist to end all ‎heists,' and deal with those pesky, former rogue N.I.D. operatives, “Endgame" ‎reveals that the individuals behind the rogue N.I.D. operation were not all ‎apprehended when the Committee was taken into custody. The newly re-organized ‎group is called "the Trust," and will also have a significant role to play in ‎the Season Eight episode "Covenant".‎

Default Remaining Season 8 SPOILERS!!

September 24, 2004:Prometheus Unboundaniel Jackson and General Hammond are on ‎board the Prometheus, when the ship receives a distress call from a crippled ‎Goa'uld ship. They investigate and find a cargo ship and an Al'kesh adrift, but ‎Prometheus is soon stolen by a woman named Vala. Daniel finds himself her ‎prisoner, and eventually convinces Vala to explain her reasons for stealing the ‎ship. Vala is the last of a team sent to obtain a vessel for use by her people. ‎They are very much like the humans of Earth, they were once slaves to the ‎Goa'uld, but long ago rose up against them. They stole Goa'uld technology and ‎used it to their advantage, winning many battles but System Lord Baal finally ‎crushed the resistance, occupying their world. Only a handful escaped to a ‎nearby moon, in the hopes of one day finding a new home for their people. Vala's ‎mission is to secure a ship to take them to that home. Her team had succeeded in ‎stealing the Goa'uld cargo ship, but the ship was damaged and her team killed ‎when the Al'kesh attacked. Meanwhile, Hammond and at least some of the ‎Prometheus crew have been left stranded on board the damaged Al'kesh. The ‎engine's control crystals are unusable, as are the ship's long-range ‎communication systems. Hammond and the crew must rely on Jackson to convince his ‎captor to turn the Prometheus around.... ‎
September 31, 2004:GEMINI:Fans of Colonel Samantha Carter will be seeing double ‎when Season 8 episode “Gemini” airs. Actress Amanda Tapping, who plays Carter on ‎the show, teased two British fans with hints about the episode - not yet in ‎production - during their visit to the Stargate SG-1 set this week. According to ‎Amanda, “Gemini” will feature “two Carters” but isn’t an Alternate Universe ‎story.‎
October 7, 2004:Good To Be King: SG-1 discovers that Harry Maybourne -- former ‎N.I.D. colonel turned rogue enemy turned loveable ally -- is living well on the ‎planet to which he retired (see Season Six's "Paradise Lost"). In fact, he's ‎living very well -- he's playing the role of "King Arkhan the First." But ‎Maybourne's planet is facing the threat of Goa'uld occupation. The forces of ‎Lord Ares arrive, led by his First Prime, Trelak. Ares apparently once ‎controlled the planet, and is now returning to reclaim it. Flanked by a ‎disguised Daniel Jackson and Teal’c, "King Maybourne" has little choice but to ‎play along as the dutiful subject of Lord Ares. Elsewhere on the planet, Carter ‎is hard at work repairing a “puddle jumper" ship -- the same type of Ancient ‎vessel discovered by the Atlantis team in the Pegasus galaxy (Atlantis: ‎‎"Rising")! The origin of the ship is unknown, but O'Neill -- who is off-world ‎with the team -- is anxious for Carter to get the ship working again, as they ‎expect the Goa'uld's forces to arrive at any moment.‎
October 14, 2004:'You Ain't Jack,':The character of young Jack from ‘Fragile ‎Balance,' the young teenager who's O'Neill, and puts him together with ‎Maybourne.‎
