Default Upcoming BSG Figures

I have a pre-order placed for the smaller figures from Joyride Studios (series one: Starbuck, Cylon, Viper). However, I have not been able to find any new info/photos of the larger, 12" ones coming from Majestic Studios. All their website shows is the same announcement from several months ago. Does anyone know if those figures are still coming out around October?

Dan,

I checked out the Joyride studios page, but there is no place to order them. Where did you place your pre-order and how much are the figures selling for??

I have my preorder placed with Entertainment Earth (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/)

The price varies whether you order a case (2 of each) or one set. I ordered the case, and with Priority Shipping, the cost was around $95.

Wave 2 is due a month or two after the first, and it inculdes Apollo, Athena, and the Cylon Raider (that's a hell of a combo). Photowise, they only show the prototypes that were on display at the ToyFair (Starbuck, and the Viper/Raider that look like the model kits).

Dan

PS I wonder what made Richard change his mind about allowing his likeness to be used for toys (he wouldn't allow it the first time around).

Something else I wish to say...

Whether or not you are a "figure collector", I think everyone here should support these toy lines by getting at least one set (large and small). We are very lucky that a company (in this case, two) has seen the value in the original series and is willing to produce these items. Very good sales of these figures will only help the chances of seeing a revival of some sort for the original cast. Besides, they will make very cool mantlepieces!

Perhaps we shoud go ahead and send JoyRide Studios emails thanking them for this line, and ask them to hold an online poll as to which figures we wish them to produce.

I second that thought from Dan and I'm planning on handing over my Latinum because the benefits are far reaching.

It's all about the big picture folks, in more ways than one!

Latinum. *scratches head.* I'm too tired and it's probably something so basic as a Trek reference.....argh.

Thanks, Dan, for posting this info. I do have a question - why do you get 2 of each figure instead of just one?

I do like the one with Starbuck, a Cylon and a Viper. Reminiscent of The Return of Starbuck!

Ojai, you can order a set (1 of each) or a case (2 of each figure). It looked like the case price was a little lower per pc. than the set.

I totally agree with Dan. Anything remotely associated with the original series must be supported!

That is why we bought the original set of DVDs.. That is why we need to buy the trading card sets!

And now, that is why we need to get these figures based upon the original series. We must show them that there is a demand for the original series and the original actors playing those roles!!!

I would but my 'budget' won't allow it. Between my insurance refusing to
cover my daughter's clinical psychologist (I pay out of pocket for that) and
Her meds which are also not covered by insurance (I pay out of pocket
for that too $100.00 per bottle) .........and the fact that I just found out that
my oldest child may have ASPERGERS ............I simply can not afford it.

I'll be paying for my oldest child's meds and clinical psychologist out of
pocket as well.

I have to MAKE the money for what I need and let what I 'may want'
GO.

BSG Dan (or anyone else who can help)-
I ordered from Entertainment Earth today (the BG action figures and some DC Direct figures) and was wondering how dependable they are. Do they get their products in at the same time as other online and in-store businesses or...?

Default questions about these items

From the previous messages, I am assuming that the manufacturer of these Galactica figures is a company called Joyride Studios. Is that correct?
What are the individual dolls/action figures and what are their sizes? Will they be sold individually or do you have to buy several of the same figures in a case? Will these be available in toy stores or comic book stores, or will you need to order them off the Internet somewhere?

I believe that the website says that the figures will be made available nation-wide at various retail outlets...

The figures are highly detailed six inch figures in action poses with around six points of articulation (probably head, hands). I don't know how big the ships are but they are probably around 6-8 inches in length...

I pre-ordered my first set already!

Set 1 - Starbuck, Cylon centurion and Colonial Viper

Set 2 - Apollo, Athena and Cylon Raider (is that right?)

And: pricing!

From Entertainment Earth -

Case (includes two of each) $74.99

Set (includes just one of each) $44.99

you have to add shipping. Cheap rates start at $5.95

They've changed Starbuck from the initial figure design they had up there.

Best,

As you can see they've got a new image of a Viper up.

I wish I had the money. Will have to stick with the 90s model kitrelease of TOS Battlestar Galactica, Cylon Baseship, Colonial Viper and Cylon Raider kits I have tucked away at home.

Beautiful pieces though.

Cheers

I know you people would like to buy the figures(me too!)but until we actually get to buy them you might like to see the prototypes.

Thanks for posting them but I'm very, very DISAPPOINTED NOT TO SEE

COLONEL TIGH or LIEUTENANT STARBUCK.

I think they could have done a better job on Athena .........
