Dirk talks in Dreamwatch
Peter posted it at cylon.org. Interesting take on Hollywood then and now and how he sees it effecting what gets made there.

This is a VERY interesting article to read. It of course 'blows out of the water' any speculation that Dirk might be in the re-imagined BSG at all.
But this does leave me a little confused, as to why if he feels so strongly about it, he chose to be part of the Documentary about it ???? I haven't had chance to see it, but I took his appearance as an endorsement ? Now he seems to hate the Mini ???
Since MooreRon seemed to be appealing to TOS cast members, perhaps this article will send a message about the hurt feelings of some people ? He can ignore fans, but no-one can ignore the original Starbuck writing an article like this in a major Magazine...
Dirk's article did seemed to ramble a bit at the half way mark, and it was sad he didn't mention what he would like to see done (a continuation I would hope)...
If an article like this was printed in Dreamscape, maybe they are open to giving the CFF some column space ??????
I've got a feeling like this is going to be a pretty active thread !!!!

Thanks Jewels that was excellent!
Earnie from what I can remember from watching the Lowdown, it seemed to me that Dirk was messing with her the whole time, he turned on the Starbuck charm.....but really wasn't being nice. anyway, I watched that a long time ago and Thats the impression that stuck with me.
I asked Dirk in the online chat if he would take part in the movie "when" it came about, and he basically said he would, and even told us what he thought it should be like

Lowdown: I thought Dirk was just turning on a little of the charm and watching her sort of twist in that, because she really didn't quite know what to do with this charmer who's role she helped reimage who was being nice to her. I loved her asking how much of a rebel Starbuck was and I think Dirk's response was something about, he wasn't but I am and he lit a cigar in a nonsmoking area. Katee panicked (almost too much) Made me laugh!!!
BTW, I loved the article too Amber. He's a very articulate guy. Though I wish we could have asked him in the chat if he was serious about making a run for govenor of Montana in the future. That would be interesting for sure.

I didn't know he might run for govenor of Montana, that would have been a great question to ask. Wonder if we could ask Tracy?

He mentioned 2008 in the chat. The man is so intelligent & such a good communicator that he could probably pull it off.....that's the scary part. (Jewels finds all politicians a little scary, lol)

Dirk may actually be serious about running for Montana Govenor in 2008 cuz he's been talking about it for about 3 years now. Who knows
As far as Dirk being in the "Lowdown". Jewels hit in on the head. Imagine this.....
Dirk sitting next to Katee in a Starbuck's coffee house. Now if I know Dirk at all I'd be thinking that sitting there with 3 "Starbucks" he'd probably be thinking "I was the first".
Therein lies the beautiful Dirk Benedict scarcasm which was intentional

If Dirk were to win the Governership (is that the right term?) then I hope we wouldn't bow out of a BSG major film, in the same way as Arnie has ?
A BSG film with all this hard work, behind it, with no Starbuck (
But I wish him all the luck with it. Tracy, do you think there is any chance, since Dirk seemed to enjoy the chat, that he will do more, or even join CF ???????

I just got done reading the artical by Dirk it was so interesting and well written and made me think...I may never eat at Macdonald's again( not like I want to eat there a lot anyway)...haha. It did sound on the chat that he would do a BG movie. I did see the part of the documentary that had Dirk in the starbucks and I loved it...he did turn on the charm and blow her away. He out acted her even there!!!!You guys are going to laugh at me but about two months later I got that the two starbucks were in a Starbucks...what a dope. I think we should have Starbucks change there logo to a picture of Dirk in his Starbuck outfit. What do you think??????Should they sell cigars there too???????
P.S. Just lost my cherry should I have a party??

Ernie, I'd rather he spent the time working on that book with Dwight than join in with us. Don't want to distract him from something I know will be pricelessly funny!
Still another chat would be a lot of fun, this time we start at the bottom of the alphabet though. And Tracy, I think Tommy and Muffit would agree, you'd be welcome to have one anytime with Dirk here.

The last I heard, Dirk hadn't even seen BG2003. Is this piece a result of his just recently viewing the movie?

He definitely had Starbuck dead to rights. And I think he reached the female audience perfectly.

Dirk hit the horse in the rear with this one! He was right on the mark! Even the older actors are being "shunned" by young Hollywood!

Yes they are ........but I think "YOUNG" Hollywood is a bit taken aback that
the Older Actors aren't being shunned by the fans.
