Default Game credits

In another thread, Drake113 notes that
Quote:
Voice acting is great and the talent list is amazing-- everyone knows that Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict are in it, but so is Kristanna Loken (T3), Robin Atkin Downes (Byron from B5), and even Dwight Shultz (With him AND Dirk on the project, there's just gotta be an A-Team reference or Easter egg somewhere in the game).
When I turned on my PS2 and fired up this game for the first time and then heard Richard Hatch as Lukas, I knew that the whole thing would be fantastic.

I'm surprised no one has noticed that the storyline was written by Grant Morrison, who is fairly well known and respected in the comic book field. He's written some brilliantly complex, exciting, and clever stuff. Superman: Red Son was a blast and had a surprise twist ending that involved time travel. He also showed a great love for, and deep understanding of, the source material (in this case, 1970s Superman comics).

The fact that he wrote the story for the Galactica game makes me suspect that it's going to be another reason to love it. For those more interested about him, his website is at http://www.grant-morrison.com/ but after a cursory look-through, I can't find any mention of Galactica or video games.

Default Starbuck and Apollo

If you have the game, watch the credits!

Richard and Dirk are listed as Apollo and Starbuck!!!!!!!!!!!

Along with a couple of other characters that they voiced.

Interesting, the pilot that gets shot down in the opening scene is named Lucas....

I wonder if that's because he sued Universal? LOL

Just to be clear, Grant wrote the original storyline for the game before it was reworked and Warthog became involved in the project. A lot of the great stuff Grant created was sadly lost during the revisions and only a few elements of his story remain in the script that I wrote for the game. I believe he gave an interview online talking about some of the amazing stuff he created that never made the final cut.

I never thought of that when I wrote that scene! Actually, the pilot "Lukas" is named after a character from a series of novels I wrote!
The other pilots in that scene are "Shane" (named after Shane Vansen from from Space: Above and Beyond), "Tybalt" (named after the character from Romeo & Juliet) and "Rylo", played by Richard Hatch and named after Steve Riley, a friend of mine who is a big Galactica fan.

James,

Did you get to meet Richard while he was on the project? He's a pretty close friend of mine. I worked on his Battlestar Trailer and his Great War of Magellan trailer, and did some FX work for Unseen Evil, starring Richard.

Are you actually a Warthog employee then?

Sadly, no. The voice recording sessions were done in the USA and I'm based in London. I would have liked to have been there, but pressing deadlines prevented me. I was very flattered when Richard later spoke very highly of the script.

I'm not on staff, I'm a freelance writer. I've worked with the Warthog team before on another space shooter title, Star Trek Invasion for the PSOne.
