Default New Galactica Products...

When any new consumer products come out bearing the Galactica name, please post a link here and if you know anything about it.

I saw the new set of Galactica trading cards that are coming out and they look pretty neat. I can't wait to get those!

The cards do look great. And I hope they're a bit sharper than the set made in the 70's.

I've been trying to get Art Asylumn interested in doing TOS action figures, but so far no luck. That's what we should push for: TOS action figures.

I was hoping that Revelle/Monogram began making the plastic model kits of the Viper, Raider, Basestar, and Battlestar. I would buy two Battlestar kits in order to name one Galactica and the other Pegasus.

I think they did re-issue the kits a few years back. But in order to find them you have to go to small, out of the way, hobby shops to find it.

^^^ I see them on eBay every so once-in-a-while. They're out there, even the original first-run kits from '78/'79.

I've ordered the box of the cards from my regular comic shop but unfortunately been adviced that an accompanying binder has not been offered yet.

Anyway ... not sure if you all have heard about this but according to amazon there is a remastered edition of the original Battlestar Galactica soundtrack that's going to be released on November 18.

Here's the link ...
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=music

Unfortunately not much info though ...

Default New remaster...

...Is the remastered edition of the FIRST ( released on LP in 78)Galactica score composed and directed by Stu Philips. For the purists out there, this original score is the only one I know of that has the "Love, Love, Love" disco theme on it . Even the 4 disc promotional score doesn't have this track. I personally think that this original recording as a whole was much better than the extended score recorded by a different orchestra a few years back.

Give it a listen

I picked up the Galactica and Basestar back in 97, when these were re-issued. The Galactica comes with extra decals, so you can label your battlestar as: Galactica, Columbia, Pegasus, or Atlantia (there may have been more).

Default Action figures...

Just a blaster in the dark, but what if we contact McFarlane toys and request that they do accurate BSG figures???

They do the Spawn figures and I also have some of their sports figures. They are awesome!!!!

If either McFarlane or Art Asylum did BSG figures, I'd buy them all. McFarlane would do awesome versions of the Imperious Leader, Ovions, Centurions, and Lucifer. I would imagine he'd focus on the creatures vs. the humans (have a look at their Alien and Predator lines...no colonial marines, yet). Art Asylum would likely best the best choice, given that they've done an awesome job with TOS Trek figures. Gotta love that Khan figure.

Get a petition going and I'd sign it.

I didn't even know they had a reissue of the kits.

It is too bad they aren't making a customizable card game.

Default kits...

I managed to get the Galactica back in 1997 and it proudly sits on a shelf in my office. Funny thing is I never put the name on the sides! It's sitting there without any name on it! I couldn't decide which one I wanted so I never did it...

There was talk of a BSG CCG many years back, IIRC (I think during the 20-yahren anniversary), but it disappeared rather quickly. A shame, really. I'd have bought a complete set with ultra-rares, m'self.
