Viper designs are from Singer/DeSanto
From KORN_FAN (posted at CA):"The original Viper designs sucked ass but because of budgit cutting they were forced to use Bryan Singer and Tom Desantos instead. Dont let Davey boy fool you into thinking that they used these vipers as a token to the fans. They couldnt afford their own."

oh that figures....
This show is showing some extremely tight pocketed accountants. Everyone associated with this project with very few exceptions is kinda on the low end of the pay scale.
They seem to have galactica 1980's budget.

And lest we forget, humanoid Cylons was yet another mistake introduced by G80 (the Halloween episode), now copied by the mini. Eeks, this is like a bad April 1st joke

It's kind of ironic that this supposedly cutting edge production that is purportedly going to change the face of science fiction is low on funds. I guess if you're going to break the mold of sci-fi television, it's best to risk as few dollars as possible. :p

Creativity is a relative word. Clearly Moore and Co. found the AI's of Above and Beyond just the thing for the new mini. The creative part comes from replacing the funny eyes of the AI's with glowing spines, something not yet seen in androids. There now you have it new cutting edge science fiction.

now why would the spine glow and not the ears? That really perplexes me.

This makes sense. One of Moore's complaints about space opera in his manifesto was that ships fly like WW2 dog-fighters (blamed Lucas for this 'tradition') and not as vehicles in a weightless environment. That totally suggests that he wanted a new design. And, apparently, he didn't get it.
So this Viper they used was actually built for Singer/DeSanto? That seems reasonable as well.

Moore probably wishes he has both the fame and money that Lucas enjoys. George Lucas has made five Star Wars movies to this date which contain no graphic sex. The movies have been money makers. As far as the dogfights, there is noise in space battles regardless of what Moore stated.

Moore is an idiot, but that's besides the point. I remember the crappy G80 episode "The night the cylons landed" or something like that. I thought the idea of human-looking cylons was stupid back then. It reminds me of the ultra-low-budget "War of the Worlds" T.V. series where the aliens took over human bodies, because they couldn't afford to re-create the aliens from the original movie...pathetic. BG2003 is going to come off like every other Sci-Fi "original" movie.
Regarding the physics of space and fighter-craft, I think Babylon 5 created the best concept to date with their Starfury design. Moore could have used that for inspiration. Of course, we're talking about an idiot that wrote for Star Trek, so what am I thinking?

Moore recycling ...
Human Cylons = low budget. That is very obvious. repcisg, that was a good comparison with Space Above and Beyond. The AI idea, though was actually pretty good in that show. But that's even more reason to not use the idea -- it would be such an obvious and blatant plagiarism of that show.
Perhaps a better comparison can be drawn with Moore's previous low budget failure: Roswell. In that show, the 4 main alien characters were in human form. When Max's (the leader-king) nemesis and his cronies show up, they're in human form as well. We never see aliens at all during the entire show. The closes you get is peeling skin and some cheap makeup effects.

Not to toss dirty laundry, but KornFan has been largely discredited. I don't think this rumor that the Viper is held from DeSanto has any truth to it.
