Default It takes all kinds...

Hey folks -

I took an interesting journey this afternoon over to the the Skiffy board (shudder). I find it interesting what people post over there. The ones that claim to be long-time BSG fans, but are so obviously starved for anything new, that even the mini looks good to them. I read posts saying how all the negativity from those that aren't happy with the current state of things are ruining it for the rest. They just want to be left alone to their "positive" opinion and are anxiously awaiting the mini just because the name "Galactica" has been slapped on it. The bit I find most funny is that they say that they want to be left alone, but do so by attacking those with "negative" opinions as they do not agree with theirs even when not written in response to a post. An odd way to be left "alone" in my eyes.

I've only really gotten neck-deep in the Galactica controversy over the last month or so and have had to do some heavy reading to try and catch up with all that's gone on in the last couple of years. It's been a real eye-opener for me just to see how far somone would go to get the mini made - a very disgusting affair indeed.

It didn't take me very long to figure out if the mini was to my liking or not - all I had to do was read the script and look at the pics to know that I would have to take the mini with a grain of salt and hope that there was a brighter future for BSG after the mini airs. The only thing is, the more background I read concerining the mini, the more it makes me appreciate TOS. *OUR* Galactica was created during a much kinder time indeed and it shows in every part of the production of TOS. It would be nice to have something new - but not at the cost of what came before it and those that love it the way I do.

I really wonder how those truly blind and uninformed folks over on the Skiffy board will feel after Dec. 7th that this isn't the Galactica they thought they were waiting for. Will they feel as cheated and dissapointed as a lot of us already do, or will they shout for more?

As I said, it takes all kinds...

Bryan

Default All kinds

Your right, all kinds to make the world go around. The skiffy board is boring. Almost everyone there is re hatching the old debate.
Why or why not to watch the mini. It gets tiresome reading people getting so violent! My mind was made up rather quickly too. It didn't take me long to see that this Mini is in no way the BSG I remember. I won't be watching that felgercarb!
I'm so glad BTS told me about this site. Thank you again BTS!!
Anyway I'm with you, it will be something to see the skiffy board after Dec.7.

Gemini1999 and Amberstar,

There may be a method to the "madness" that you are reading over at the Skiffy board. Check the following URL for some info regarding some past dealings we've had over at the Skiffy Outhouse --

http://www.cylon.org/phpBB2/viewtopi...062af11df7b9d2

It's a real eye-opener!

BST -

That was an interesting thread to say the least...! I'm still boggled by all that's been going on at some of the boards - it borders on pure insanity.

I did start to suspect some of what I was seeing was either due to "moderation" or some kind of "clone" activity. There just couldn't be so many that claim to love BSG and are so willing to embrace the mini.

I was so happy when I found CF - I come home every day and spend the first hour or so going over what I missed while I was out. CF is a very comfy place! I have also ventured over to CA and see some of the same people I see here and find it an interesting place to visit as well. I try and get over to Nathan's website to read the boards there too, but there is only so much I can do when I get home!

Thanks,
Bryan

That was a nice post Bryan. I too am at a loss as to how someone who says they love something could want to see it changed. But as TwoBrained has already discovered things are not always what they seem.

I wish there were a way to premiere not one but both sides, continuation and mini. The overwhelming support for the former that would arise would do far more than our poor words.

If only fishes were wishes....

Hi Muffit! Again I agree with you if both sides could be shown i'd bet money on that - the support for a continuation would blow their socks off!
The powers that be just don't understand. People that I have spoken to didnt even know anything about the mini & they got excited until I told them of the changes to TOS characters and storyline. I have a feeling they would support a movie or a continuation if it was actually BSG.

I agree with you, I definitely would love to see something new but definitely not at the cost of TOS and what it make us love it.

Thank you BST for POSTING that. I personally think
that they were selected to be brain washed by MOORE and
by HAMMER and wouldn't know the truth If I took a
sledge hammer and HAMMERED it into their tiny little
pea brained heads.
