Default Hammer's desperate damage control

http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/art-m...7/22/13.00.sfc

I guess they failed to mention what Richard Hatch said, that half the room walked out during the screening. They must mean that the half that was left had a good reaction.

Nice speech written by Hammer though don't you think? Bamber is such a good little drone.

Begging your pardon, Mr. jjrakman, sir, but where does our revered Mr. Hatch impart that bit of glorious knowledge?

For those of us with limited internet time during the day a link to such a sought-after bit of information would be very helpful.

Thank you very much.

Jamie Bamber, who plays Apollo in the SCI FI Channel's upcoming Battlestar Galactica miniseries, told SCI FI Wire that he was pleasantly suprised at the positive fan response to a preview at Comic-Con International in San Diego over the weekend. Bamber and fellow cast members Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck) and Tricia Helfer (Number Six) joined executive producers Ronald D. Moore and David Eick to answer fan questions and screen footage from the upcoming miniseries, which re-imagines the original 1970s TV series.
  • "There's obviously been a lot of action on the Internet," the British actor said in an interview. "But it's much more constructive to actually meet people. And people are always much more interesting."

I'm a "people", too, at least the last time I checked! (And a real one to boot, not some clone creation of the Skiffy Stooge). I just happen to have a dissenting opinion of the mini-series.

"And they can understand some of the issues that Ron and David were facing when they conceived of the project. And I think, hopefully, that everyone who was there will be one step closer to being on board with us."

Pray tell, please elaborate on the enormous issues such as, how to butcher the hell out of a good storyline, replace it with t & a, split-screen & no sound-in-space gimmicks, give everyone a problem and call it more "dramatically interesting".

..."if you absolutely are besotted with what was made in the '70s, then maybe the relationship is so founded between you and that show, that any re-imagining is going to be strange for you,"

No, Jamie, I am not "besotted" or so closed-minded that I can't stand change. I am NOT saying that EVERY single second of EVERY single episode was absolutely perfect. I'm just saying that the overall storyline was completely plausible and was deserving of being continued.

"I think our show can complement the other show."

Oh, this is good. How can the mini complement the original when it OVERWRITES it!! Think before you speak!

"It's much more of a human story."

No disagreement there. Human Colonists. Human Cylons. Only thing missing is Human Daggits!!

The four-hour Battlestar Galactica premieres Dec. 7.

Spin, Bonnie, Spin...it's about all you've got left!

I hate to say this, but I'm wondering if reports of "half the room walking out" aren't just a bit of wishful thinking. Does anyone have a firsthand account of this?

Well, that what Micheleh stated Richard Hatch had said in the thread to CA above.

And over on Sci-Fi, there was a first hand post statig that he and his wife walked out, which was posted just before Micheleh posted.

Other than that, maybe Micheleh can get Richard to give us that first hand account.

How many packages actually arrived and were delivered is my question.

Default Walking out...

I have seen a couple of reports over on the 2003 site that says that there was no mass exodus and that anyone saying anything about half the audience walking out is lying. I must admit, there have been no press reports about anything like that happening. If the press made so much about Edward James Olmos's statements, they definitely would be reporting something like that...
