Default New BSG "companion" book due out in August

Battlestar Galactica: The Unofficial Companion
Publisher: Imprint Books
Release date: Sometime in August 2003

Ready when launch! Battlestar Galactica, the epic series that premiered on ABC in September 1978 and captured a 66 million opening audience and the hearts and minds of millions of fans is represented here: from its hectic production schedule to its cancellation and reemergence as Galactica:1980 to the Second Coming trailer by Richard Hatch (Apollo) to Tom Desanto (X-Men) and his quest to get the original series and its characters stories told--its all here. The book includes:

* Glen A Larson shares his thoughts, including a foreword as well as Galactica: 1980 and his attempts to bring back the franchise.
* Stu Phillips talks about composing one of the most well known musical pieces in history and his scoring for the series.
* Exclusive pictures of the Second Coming trailer produced by Richard Hatch himself as well as a complete review of Hatch's books and thoughts on the series. Tom Desanto and Hatch both talk about the failed revival attempt at Fox.
* Dirk Benedict provides insight into his role as Starbuck and about reprising his role in The Return of Starbuck
* Interviews with Alan J. Levi, Don Bellasario, Terry Carter, Noah Hathaway, Anne Lockhart, Jack Stauffer as well as many other cast members and producers from the original series.
* Rare photos provided by the cast exclusively for the book.
* The Nielsen Ratings uncovered: Did the series really deserve being cancelled?
* The most complete detailed episode guide to all 17 episodes and 24 hours of Battlestar.
* Battlestar Galactica vs Star Wars: a comparison between the two including information about the court case itself.

Over 300 pages dedicated to the show by authors David Criswell and Richie F. Levine go further then anyone ever could have imagined. Find out the true story of what really happened 25 years ago and the attempts to bring the original series back on the air recently. May the Lords of Kobol be with you on your journey.

BTW, Mr. Levine said that the "Ready when Launch" referred to the book not quite being ready yet (still finishing interviews) and Sarah (Rigel) Rush gave her blessing to that.

It will not be listed at Amazon until it closer to being printed, so we can't bug them just yet.

Just thought you should know that too.

I emailed Richie today, there was a delay to get a few more interviews in, but the book is being proofed now and he will get news of it's release to us, he said it should be fairly soon.
