Thumbs up BSG comments on That 70s Show

I was watching an older rerun tonight of "That 70's Show" and they made a few amusing BSG references.

On the opening of the episode the gang are hanging out in Eric’s basement. Jim commented that lately Kelso is never around on Sunday nights. Donna replied that he probably spends those nights with Jackie.

Later in that episode Jackie angrily walks into Eric's basement and commented that Kelso blows her off every Sunday night because he likes to stay home and watch his favorite show,Battlestar Galactica. When Fez realized that it was Sunday night he immediately got up and ran home (audience is supposed to assume that he is rushing home to watch BSG).

Then later in that episode Eric passes through the living room where Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty are watching Television.

All of the sudden Red yells at the TV "Those Cylons are a bunch of Dumb-Asses" "How do they keep missing a target that is so close?" or something to that effect.

It was very funny and I am sure that even non-BSG fans where laughing when they watched it.

Isn’t that amazing? Another popular American sitcom makes another BSG reference. The writers even got the Sunday nights reference correct..... and Ronald D Moore said in an interview back in May (on one of his reasons for not wanting to do a continuation) “no one in America remembers Battlestar Galactica.”

Or he at least wanted to make us believe that "No one remembers Battlestar Galactica" to justify his efforts.

My question is am I the only one that has been seeing BSG references coming out of the woodwork for the past 3 years on Television?

I said a while back that there was a cultural awareness of BSG that the SciFi gang was ignoring. Thanks for the proof, Scooter.

Cultural awareness is right, BG is KNOWN out there sci-fi just talking usual crap to get their own way! Family Guy has also spoofed BG in a episode,

Taken from my Sci-fi channel Bboard reply

In the episode "European Road show" at the very end! Note: There is also the Airplane 2 sequel which used BG's theme music also Beverly Hill Cop 3 had BG referenced, It was on MSFT3000 but in a low budget movie where it had it's footage taken by some cheezy 1980's straight to video movie, the name of which i can't remember? The A-Team pilot as well had BG referenced and i've heard BG was in "Malcolm in the Middle" season 3, but i've yet to see that one myself?

If i dig up more i spread it here!

I just remember screeching when the guys were posed wearing Colonial Warrior uniforms at the beginning of that SNL sketch almost as loudly as when I saw the Vipers in the Sony ad.

I'm going to be watching out for that episode of "That 70's Show". Has anybody seen "The Simpsons" episode where the comic book store owner says he is standing in a pose like Lorne Green from Battlestar Galactica?
Hey Flamingo Girl, what SNL episode was that? Who was hosting? Was it recent?

and don't forget the Radio Shack commercials for the last 2 years with Galactica playing on the monitors. It was only background footage, but someone said "I want this"

Hi All!

A few days ago i caught Lurette Spang in an episode of Charlies Angles, her first scene had her in skin tight Short-Shorts, with a little Cheak bubbling out! Yowza!

Laters!

Rich.

Sir Ian McKellen was the host, Guitarjedi, and it was toward the end of the show.
