Default Orion Checks?

Does anyone know or have screen cap of what exactly these Orion checks are and what they look like?

Mike -

He said "orion checks" not "orion chicks"

The only episode where orion checks may be seen and were also mentioned is in "The Man With 9 Lives". When Chamelon tells the lovely siress that he misplaced his money, she held out a handful of cubits and checks and offers them to him. I don't remember what they look like and I don't have screen cap capability either.

I always wondered where Orion was in relation to the Colonies or why someone would have them at all. I mean, was it an alien world, or was it just a clever bit of "space"dialogue? I guess that we'll never know the answer to that one.

Mike - thanks for the compliment on the trivia, but I'm not as well versed as some others around here. I just contribute what I can...

Best,
Bryan

Was any other type of currency in the episode "The Magnificent Warriors?" Starbuck is playing pyramid with those guys on Serenity and there seems to be a lot of coins, cubits on the table?

There was also the coins that LaCerta used playing "poker" in The Lost Warrior. Those props sold on ebay a couple months back.

I actually found great shots of the Orion checks in "The Magnificent Warriors."

Has anyone else noticed that they seemed to use the same mold for both Transporation Duckets and Orion Checks? The small duckets are red and the large black. Orion checks are the large ones in gold and the small ones in silver.

That's right. Some were painted other colors such as red and they were used as the duckets on the shuttle flight in Man with nine lives...

Hmmmm? lets see.

Man With Nine Lives brought up Orion checks once more with Chamleon, Siress Bellaby bought her engeriser on Orion (with no colonial markings), Sheba mentioned that the cocky guards were as pale as an 'Orion's moon' in Baltar's Escape.

Orion like many other mentioned locations in the series; Borallus, Proteus (Prison Planetoid See The Long Patrol), The Aries system, Sectara, Starlost, Ice Station Thola, Lunar 7, Molocay, Cosmara Arcapelico, Pinus, Kalpa (mountain top Cylon Garrison on planet equellus Colonel Croft was famed for taking down)

Probably was a place where human life had colonised outside of the 12 colonies. Or a major alien world where the colonials had trading agreements with many other races and therefore there was inter-changeable money being used besides colonial cubits, gold or jewel ores being traded off to one another. Orion checks probably were intergrated in Colonial society being the humans in the Galactica universe were an interstellar traveling bunch of people.

Cubits and Orion checks probably had a different set of values to them depending on the different places in the star-system you were currently in at the time. But apparently the Rag Tag fleet uses both (nd prehaps other kinds of money in their system?). An each probably has a particular value than the other depending where you travel to in the colonial fleet. Especially on the Rising Star of all places!

The Siress in Man With 9 Lives mentions "marques" or "markers" as well... third form of currency???
