Seeing the key, Adama's medallion, also reminds me that this prop was also seen in the Buck Rogers episode, Space Vampire. In that episode it is used as a "Power Lock", or a 25th century version of a cross to scare away or hold a "vorvon" or space vampire at bay. I always found it interesting how they would reuse props and ships from Galactica in Buck Rogers.
