Question Colonial pins

Does anyone know if one can buy colonial pins, like the ones they wear on their uniform collars, on TOS?

The Galactica ones are U.S. Military Intelligence insignia, maybe through Army/Navy surplus, but I've never gone in one to ask. Pegasus are Naval Command Ashore (and they do come in the collar pip and and larger one that Cmdr. Cain wore on his battlejacket breast.) Try Katarra8 on eBay for the collar pips/pins from Galactica and the squadron patches. Chris Pappas used to have the Pegasus stuff, and used to carry uniform patches as well email: webmaster AT chrispappas dot com. Chris also had medical personnel insignia. Gordon (spcglider here) has Cmdr. Adama's medalion pin Check the memorabilia forum or search just it by his user name.

Battlestar Galactica 1978

Hi,

You can also try InterGalacticTrading.com:

http://www.intergalactictrading.com/

They have the silver collar pins for about $12.

There is also BattlestarGalactica.org:

http://www.battlestargalactica.org/

They have both the gold and silver pins. Each set is about $12 as well.

Regards,

Nathan

I think I had a pair from intergalactic, they were crudely done in comparison to Katarra's.

Just for info:

After half a ton of research (approximately 1000 standard pounds!) we determined that the pin on Cain's jacket breast is NOT a larger version of the Command Ashore collar pin.

The collar pin is a squat laurel wreath containing a broad trident (like the one seen in Poseidon's hand in The Little Mermaid).

The pin on the jacket is a WW2 Italian military medal that has been modified. It consists of a tall laurel wreath filled with stylized wings and a eagle-head pommel sword. All this is capped with a royal crown. The studio prop or costume folks cleared out the wings and the crown leaving just the sword and the laurel wreath.

I sell resin kit copies of the "Cain Combo" (cravat pin and breast badge), as well as Commander Adama's uniform brooch (not to be confused with the Seal Of Kobol... posessed by all members of the Council of 12 and handy for opening sealed tombs).
I have the Seal version available as well.

Gordon, thanks for the correction. That was some info I don't think anyone but a props maker/collector like yourself would have discovered.

Hi,

That's true. The set from InterGalactic is also silver, not gold like the ones in the series. I got mine from BSG.org, which is run by the Katarra group.

Nathan

I wanted to alert all of my fellow fans here ......

YOUR BEING RIPPED OFF!!!!!!!!!

I have a source for the clasps on the warrior jackets.
And you won't have to pay $30.00 dollars like Kathy Pillsbury wants for them either.
If you make your own costumes, or you have someone make them for you...you'll be saving a load of money if you go to these guys dirrect.
They will be more then happy to help you, and they know what the clasps are used for. All you have to do when you call them is tell them you need the Battlestar Galactica clasps and they'll know what your talking about.
(these are the guys that Kathy gets them from)
And guess what guys...... you can get a set of four (4) clasps for a jacket for $12.00 from them.....not 30.00 like from Kathy.
