Default Some different designs

I was distracted again and came up with a design for RDM based on a B5 design for the Excalibur. still a WIP and principally designed for that setting but I used TOS flightpods (the same ones I used on my other carrier design).

I think that, once I'm happy with the RDM design, I may just take off the railguns and change the front and engine blocks and see where I get to.

These are the RDM's:

The first didn't have connecting rings, the second does.

I then had feed back suggesting adding in flightpods:

Of course I was doing this quickly and using standard models. The fins are far too narrow (not bothered about the rings so much). Of course the guys over at wolf's are a blood thirsty lot and someone wanted it with the pods realligned and with extra engines - a fast carrier in other words. This is the situation as of last night. I also wondered what it woould look like with inverted connecting fins - not brilliant as it turns out but I wanted to see anyhow:

Oh oh, I see a B5 excalibur mesh mixed in with a new series battlestar as you said, but very nice to see creative ideas being done rather than the same old stuff rehashed over and over. Well done. You've just given me an design idea for a super battlestar class flagship based on the hull on your "extra" class design. Thanks again!

Fins modded from excalibur; stripped down pods from a TOS galactica; engines on the main body from Cygnus, Engines on the ring from Galactica RDM; front is an elongated version of Sleipnir RDM and various stock parts from Doga.

Mixing and matching like that is how some of the best stuff gets made. Great design.

Now if I can somehow get the right texture for the real galactica (TOS of course) I might strip out those railguns, and remod her along the defender/protector lines.

Mucking around and wanted to get a feel for how a Protector might go to an RDM look:

I'm not a fan of the new series designs, but I like what look of what you've done here. Really nice!

Based off a fanfic I'm writing (TOS in this case), I will be melding a Guardian forward section ( A raider blew her engine) with a Tiger (which lost all of its front). Heres the result (I reinforced the join with an upper section)
