Has anybody else noticed that in the movie "Galaxy Quest" there is an overdub meant to keep the film's PG rating?

Close to the end of the film, when Gwen DeMarco (Sigourney Weaver) and Jason Nesmith (Tim Allen) have to run "through the chompers" aboard the real NSEA Protector, Gwen blurts: "Well SCREW THAT!"

If you look at her mouth carefully, that is NOT what she originally said. I have watched this playback three times and it is hilarious. Quite clearly, she uses a more emphatic expletive than "SCREW" to express her displeasure. It is really funny.

Irreverently,
Martok2112 :D

There was a reference to Fred having a drug problem that was removed for the rating as well. That would explain why he was munching his way through half of the film.

LOL! I always wondered about Fred. He always just seemed so....out there. I didn't know if he just had mystic grandeur running through his mind constantly, or if he did have a darker secret.

Thanks for the info on that Flamingo Girl.

By the way, even if they did allow Sigourney to use the "stronger expletive" in Galaxy Quest, chances are it would've only rated a PG-13. That stronger expletive has been used even in PG rated flicks before. "Tank" (PG), "Spaceballs" (PG), "U2 Rattle and Hum" (PG-13), "Runaway" (PG-13), "Armageddon" (PG-13). It really just depends on the context.

Galaxy Quest has more Star Trek Mojo in it than the last ten years of Berman/Braga Trek combined. By Gripthar's hammer, you shall be avenged!

Should have dubbed her to say "Frack" instead. Then you'd NEVER have caught the dub over!

Woulda been a welcome salute to another slightly well known space fantasy. Hmmm...I wonder what that could be? ;)
