NASA Lands Space Rover on Mars
Tonight NASA successfully landed the Spirit rover on the surface of Mars. NASA technicians at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory were then able to link the Spirit rover with the orbiting Mars Odyssey. addendum:
Excitement at JPL was dampened by statements by newly appointed NASA executive Bonnie Hammer. Ms. Hammer states she hopes to move NASA away from space type projects. Ms. Hammer feels that NASA has done space “to death” and it is time for the organization to move on. She feels NASA should focus on UFO and paranormal phenomenon. Other plans include fear simulations and studies on groups of really wacky roommates.
(Sorry, couldn't help myself)
Congratulations to NASA.
Seriously this is a great night for our real space people. NASA has done their usual superb job with the planetary exploration program. (My father worked on the Voyager probes. I actually got to carry a tiny piece of the Voyager 2 when I was little.)
Support your local space program.
Way to go NASA. Great job.
