Hi everyone,
(I've talked previously with "Battlestar Galactica" FAQ author/laureate John Larocque about this. This doesn't infringe on his FAQ work, nor serve to replace anything he has worked on.)
With the relaunch of BattlestarPegasus.com on November 26th, there will be a mini-FAQ document available to everyone. Currently titled "A Primer on the Return of
Battlestar Galactica", the document provides insights and education to fans who are returning to the fold (with the advent of the SCI-FI Channel mini-series). It also serves to educate people on the general developments and efforts of the past couple of years.
An advanced copy will be available next week to webmasters who wish to contact me directly.
This document may be regarding as "pro-Richard Hatch", "pro-Glen A. Larson", "pro-Tom DeSanto", etc.
So be it. BattlestarPegasus.com is focused almost entirely on the original CLASSIC series, not the mini-series. It's my intention for people to know that there were prior efforts to bring back the original series besides the curent SCI-FI Channel mini-series. Instead of searching the 'net to piece together the puzzle, a very, very
basic summary will be available. (I know it's difficult for webmasters to write up content all the time; hopefully they can use this as supplemental material, too.)
This isn't about bashing the new mini-series. This is about educating people on past efforts. [Example: When someone asks (about the mini-series), "Where's Richard Hatch? Where's Dirk Benedict?" "Starbuck's a female?" "Boomer, too?!" et. al., you can point them to this document.]
And after you see the first of a few forthcoming projects from BattlestarPegasus.com, starting November 26th, you'll understand why I need to clarify the past efforts versus the new ones (as people ask, "Why didn't they do
THAT instead?!"

)
Michael
