Default Yeah! Can You Feel It Bonnie Baby! Can You? Huh?

From TV Guide.com

EDWARD JAMES UH-OH: Sci Fi Channel president Bonnie Hammer visibly squirmed at Tuesday's TCA presentation for Battlestar Galactica, where star Edward James Olmos revealed that devotees of the original '70s TV show are sending him hate mail. Apparently, they've heard Sci Fi's four-hour fall miniseries is a very loosely based remake, and they ain't happy. "If you're a die-hard fan of the original Battlestar Galactica, please don't watch," Olmos declared. "Sci Fi Channel wants you to think everyone will like this. They won't! So please, don't watch! Buy the DVD of the original series, and when we're on, pop it in instead! I don't want you writing me any more letters!"

I would suggest EVERYONE contact TV Guide immediately to let them know how you feel and reference this article, and the article in which she says that everyone tested said they would love to see it reimagined. Let's make her look like a doddering fool! If they're willing to print this, who knows what else they might be willing to print! Contact the here:

Bonnie: just what the fuc@ were you doing out there

Edward: the truth has to be told Bonnie, you cheated the fans and I am paying the price for it

Bonnie: you didn't have to take the role you know, anybody could play adama

Edward: (snorts) at what your paying me I doubt it.

Bonnie: look you keep this up, and you won't be in the series afterwards, we'll get sombody else to play adama.

Edward: Go ahead Bonnie, I don't care. I got my 3 dollars for doing this show, and I hope it fails. you lied to the fans. I will do no more evil. beside I heared that if they might tar and feather us. I'm outta here, before they catch us

Here's what I wrote the author of the story. Please feel free to use any or all of the elements below to craft your own letter. Good Hunting!

Dear Mr. Michael Ausiello,

Thank you very much for your reporting on Bonnie Hammer’s continued lying over the current Battlestar Galactica Production. I would like to give you more information and kindly ask that you probe further into this matter. And at the end of this letter I have included a link to the leaked screenplay of this new mini, that you may review it for yourself. As you can see here:

[url]http://custom.marketwatch.com/custom/excite-com/news-story.asp?guid={78A40422-43E4-4773-A693-4CF81C72E7F4}&alias=/ht/nw

Ms. Hammer clearly states the opposite of what you reported Mr. Olmos stated at TV Guide.com. The writer of the mini series, Ronald D. Moore, is also is contradicting Ms. Hammer’s words:

http://www.cylon.org/bsg2003/remake-...ew-rdm-02.html

He clearly states: ““The greatest frustration has been seeing some long-time fans of the original be so adamantly opposed to what we're doing.” – Ronald D.Moore

We have been writing these people endlessly both long before this production ever began up to this very point asking for a continuation of the old 1978 program, not a remake. They have summarily insulted and ignored us. You may view our opinions here on these boards:

You are of course invited to join these discussions. Also, you are invited to sign the online petitions regarding this matter:

And feel free to view the official Boycott website:

Instead they wish to giving us what we have been asking for, they hand us a production based on deviant values. In the screenplay a robotic race called Cylons are driven by their religious beliefs and are meant to represent Al Qaeda, and the humans to represent modern day Americans. In the screenplay the Cylons attack the humans, and the humans are to blame for the attack. Mr. Moore has stated regarding his screenplay, “Certainly, the events of 9/11 and its aftermath are current political themes that play into the script. Make your own judgments as to what they say to you.” It’s obvious what it “says” to him. Mr. Moore “Blame’s America” and is using his position to pervert a classic television series into a piece of Anti-America propaganda.

More of the writer’s deviant views are presented in his portrayal of the military. They are all seriously dysfunctional. One officer is a drunk, while a subordinate strikes a superior officer over a card game. The list goes on and on. In addition, this production of Battlestar Galactica appears to glorify themes of sexual assault. The film begins with a graphic sexual encounter between two of the principal characters, and there are scenes of sexual assault throughout the film.

If you have any doubts, you can view a copy of the leaked screenplay here:

Thank you for your time.

I wrote TV Guide as ordered. I have written them in the past also to protest against this monstrosity being called BG.

My letter. A little rushed, but readable.

I loved reading that snippet where Sci Fi Channel president Bonnie Hammer squirmed visibly in her seat as Edward James Olmos described the hate mail he was receiving from Galactica fans. I don't endorse hate mail, and I'm sorry that Olmos is getting it, but the writing has been on the wall for years.

There is a Galactica forum at scifi.com, the Sci Fi Channel's very own site, that goes back four years and 99 out of 100 of the posters there have been calling for a continuation of the show for all those years...not a remake. Tom DeSanto of X Men fame was set to do just that until studio politics stopped the production (the rumors were that Bonnie Hammer herself was behind these political manuevers). It's great to see her squirm after she puposefully went against the fans' wishes, which are all right there on her own site in black and white. All she had to do was read her own forum.

it would seem that the only fiction world Hammer knows about is the one she lives in.
