Default Galactigami (long load, be patient)

Fleets,

First wanted to say Hello! I'm new to this board and hope it turn out to be a great forum for SciFi.

I have been getting into Origami (paper folding) over the few weeks. I do it for recreation, coordination, and mental stimulation. I am looking for new ideas and wondered if any of you had come across any Galactica themed origami? A cylon head or viper would be really cool to do in paper folding.

If I can't find anything, I may try to do it myself. Don't want to reinvent the wheel if it has been done already.

-Flyingamoeba.

Welcome to Fleets!

I haven't seen any Galactica origami, but I'll keep an eye open.

I love Origami myself ....but am NOT too good at it yet.

Maybe someday.

Check with Don, Tom, Titon or Jewels .....if there is
any Galactica Origami ...... they'll know about it.

If not .....YOU can INVENT it! :light:

Default Galacticgami

I . . . am totally into origami. I am not a master or anything, but I enjoy it a lot and have been in to it since I was about 12 (22 years off and on). In all my Galactigami websearches, the only one I ever found was this one:

http://www3.sympatico.ca/draken35/draken/origami.html

The dude has a cool story about how he shared his model (at the bottom of the page) with Richard Hatch at a 'con but if you or I put enough brain energy into it, I think we could come up with a model to compete with this one.

Anyway, Galactigami is an art form still to be discovered . . .

Ethan,

Those are very cool. I am still working on the cylon head. If I keep at it long enough, I'm sure I will get it. I think I have coined the phrase "Galactigami". I should buy up the domain name before someone else does. Most of the sites I have found have the fighter ships but no head. Someone has done C3PO though. I may be able to work from that.

Most of the links I sent you have a database of diagrams so you can make your own projects. Great family fun.

When I figure out the Cylon head, I will post the fold diagrams. Haven't decided whether or not to make a 2D, sculpture, or mask for the Cylon head. The mask would be fun for your conventions.

If someone finds anything, pass it along. The C3PO plans are out there too.
