Default Olmos: "Do Not watch this program."

From Thursday, July 10th's, Atlanta Journal Constitution:

http://www.ajc.com/thursday/content/...621fb00bb.html

FALL TV SEASON PREVIEW: Sci-fi 'ouch'

Steve Murray - Staff

"Please tell your readers, do not watch this program." That was Edward James Olmos, promoting the new miniseries version of "Battlestar Galactica" airing in December.

If reporters were surprised by such seeming candor, imagine the instant heartburn of Sci Fi Channel execs.

Actually, Olmos aimed his comment at fans of the original "BS" in the '70s, which, he says, is nothing like the new version. "I would not advise them to watch this program," he said of the updating. "It would hurt them."

I sent Mr. Murray a thank you note at stmurray@ajc.com.

Maybe they don't want criticism. If TOS fans don't watch and only newbies watch there is no basis for criticism. Anyone new watching can't do a comparison or critique.

Default Thanks Steve

My Note to Mr. Murray

Thanks for bringing this to your readers. For to long Bonnie Hammer and company have wanted to hide that this mini-series has virtually no fan support. I also owe Mr. Olmos a word of thanks for his candor. For the record Mr. Murray we “real-real”, and “purists” fans are mostly professionals, artists and parents who have no desire to go back to the 70’s with Disco hair and robot dogs.

Thanks again.
