Galactica Purists Go Home?!?!

Work on the new "Battlestar Galactica" miniseries is proceeding, but some long time fans are not going to be happy. Actor Edward James Olmos (Commander Adama) told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that this incarnation of "Battlestar Galactica" is going to be different. "If you're a staunch purist, then you won't like it. . . There's no two ways around it." Just to make sure that you didn't misunderstand, the actor added, "If I were a purist, I wouldn't watch it. Don't waste your time. Get the old version on DVD. Don't go through the pain." The comments are not really a surprise, a bit more blunt than I would have thought, but not surprising.
