Would love to see a Colonial Starbase

Is it just me or does anyone else think that the colonials should have had at least 1 stationary Starbase. Yes I know it's a show about moving ships but it just seems weird that with all that tech they have they didn't have an orbital base someplace.

I've no problem w/imagining that TOS BSG had some sort of orbital facilities, we just never saw them, nor heard of them. Not a big deal in the long run, really, 'cause it allows us to make up something from scratch that we think fits in to the BSG 'Verse.
