Default Just Saw the TV Guide Sneak Peaks

article about the ten things you need to know about the new galactica. (I suppose others here have already seen it.) And I know TV Guide has generally been friendly towards the original series, but reading the article was, well, somewhat brutal. It seems that everytine TOS gets mentioned, the word "cheesey" gets used. I suspicion that if one gets picky enough, either show has enough cheese in it to keep United Dairy Farmers supplied for a yahren. And just because the fans of the original may actually like some of the fans of the mini, and maybe willing to concede that the mini is somewhat more interesting than the shape-shifter episodes of DS9, does not necessarily mean they are keen on it or endorse the mini.
Actually I think there are episodes of JAG that contain the heart and pathos of Battlestar Galactica more so than the Moore show. But that is my unsolicited opinion. (One episode they try to find a transport plane while flying in a fog-bank, in another episode, Bud's kid comes into the Admirals office much like Boxey came into Adama's room.)
And I think the continuation series that almost got made wasnt mentioned.
And I prefer the Daggitts to the Humano-Cylons, (The Warriors need somebody to carry thier cooler of Ambrosia.)
Oh well, the road back takes a long ways.
I was checking out the Dukes of Hazzard movie sites, and it seems while many fans are all for the movie, at the very same time, they'd like to see something with the original cast members showing what they are doing a few years down the road. That idea has been expressed by some people here at Fleets and does seem to have some merit.

The difference is that Dukes Of Hazzard has already had two reunion TV movies.

I didn't see the promos on TV yet, but one of my friends at one of my Space:1999 Yahoogroups (OnlineAlpha) did.... She was completely livid! She said that the voiceover for the promo stated something like: "The new Galactica makes spacedust of the original". She went on to say how angry she was regarding the remake of BSG and how it didn't need to be remade.

She shuddered to think of what would happen if the SciFi Channel got a hold of Space:1999....

Best,
Bryan
