A wall of Cylon Raiders head towards the Rag Tag Fleet, so many they blot out the very stars themselves.
In the Alpha launch bay of the Battlestar Galactica a familiar figure strides towards a ready to, launch Colonial Viper. Taking a half-smoked fumarello from his mouth he drops it on the floor and stubs it out with his toe.
STARBUCK: Well, I always was going to give them up, seems like the right time, after all I might not get to smoke another one. Yes sir Starbuck your luck finally might have run out.
A pretty female deck hand walks up to Starbuck with his warrior helm she looks puzzled because Starbuck is talking to himself.
DECK HAND: Sir?
STARBUCK: Toss me my helmet will ya?
The deck hand throws him the helmet which he catches and puts on in one flowing motion.
STARBUCK: Thanks. What are you doing later?
DECK HAND: I thought your luck had run out sir.
STARBUCK: I think it’s come back chief.
Starbuck flashes her one of his trademark smiles, the deck hand blushes and smiles back.
TANNOY VOICE: Cylon attack force at a 100 microns and closing.
Both Starbuck and the deckhand’s revelry is broken.
STARBUCK: Catch ya later!
DECK HAND: You bet sir!
The deck hand gives Starbuck a peck on the cheek and he mounts his Viper’s wing and jumps into the cockpit and closes the hatch.
BOOMER’S VOICE (over ship to ship): What was that all about?
STARBUCK (doing his pre-flight ): A date.
BOOMER (close up in his Viper): A date! Right now every Cylon between here and Sagan knows where is coming to blow the pogees out of us and you’re trying to get a date!
STARBUCK: Well you know me Boomer.
BOOMER (smiles): I most certainly do old friend.
STARBUCK (Smiles): I got that date by the way.
BOOMER: As if I had any doubts!
STARBUCK: Right lets get this show on the road. Core Command, this is Blue Flight Alpha, permission to launch?
CORE COMMAND (Rigel’s voice over ship to ship): Blue Flight Alpha, launch when ready!
Starbuck hits the “TURBO” button on his joystick and his Viper rockets down the launch tube.
STARBUCK: I wonder what that girl’s name is?
Could this sequence be a reality? Well it could, if your a Battlestar Galactica fan who believes in a big screen movie continuation of the original story begun in 1978.
