Default for those holding off on buying on the DVD's

I thought I'd mention some of Universal's practices regarding DVD's.

I've always been a big fan of the old Dracula, Wolfman, Mummy movies with Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, and Lon Chaney Jr.

Well a few years back Universal came out with a boxed set for these movies, each movie was a special edition DVD.

Well now you can't find this DVD set anywhere because the stopped printing it. And it's expected that they won't print it again until interest is high again, probably when that Van Helsing movie comes out in 2004.

The only place you can find it now is on eBay where they gouge you for it.

I'm a fan of the Universal movies too. I did manage to get hold of The Mummy, but have yet to get the others. Even the double feature titles are long gone. Hopefully the powers that be at Universal will re-isssue these great movies.:colwar:

Whatever complaints you may have about the non-completeness of bonus scenes, or other issues (I am investigating the length of the pilot episode for example), they pale next to the prospect of NOT owning these episodes.

By and large, this is something you will want to own. Buy them before they are gone.

My set is due to be delivered tomorrow!!

Considering that I am unable to attend Galacticon and unwilling to watch the mini-series, it is, hopefully, a way for me to send an unmistakable signal to Universal of my preference!

Don't delay! If you have some disposable burning a hole in your pocket, BUY the DVD set!! You won't be sorry!!

BST -

Like you, I am unable to attend the Con - Buying the DVDs and the new book will have to keep me warm this winter BSG-wise. Amazon shows my DVD set in transit at this point and will be delivered tomorrow. It will make for an interesting weekend!
