Default Did anyone else get an email from Amazon?

I got one that said that the Box Set price was dropping to $83.99.

Something tells me there are more than 100,000 being produced--unit costs go down when you make more in the initial run.

It would be fun if many folks took Olmos advice.

Didn't the 100,000 units thing come from Ted, back when some people thought he had some inside knowledge? I don't remember hearing it anywhere else. The press release didn't mention it. Correct me if I'm wrong but unless it was posted elsewhere the 100,000 thing is as bogus as everything else he's said.

Default I stand corrected

Well, within minutes of my posting the above, Ted PM'd me to let me know he had already announced that the DVD's were no longer limited to 100,000 units. So there you go, take it as you will.

http://www.galactica2003.net/articles/0703a.htm

"July 8, 2003 - Good news for all Battlestar Galactica fans!!! The Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Epic Series DVD Box Set is no longer under any restrictions for distribution. Production run will exceed 100,000 units and will meet all preorders ordered by September 15, 2003. Click here to see a screenshot from distribution. Item status change to "No Restrictions" as of the 8th of July 2003."

Default No restrictions

Just goes to show there is more interest in the original series than all the bigwigs thought there was. This is what the fans have said all along. And there are surely going to be a lot of dissapointed people when the new SciFi mini series is shown. I sincerely hope Ron Moore and Bonnie Hammer are among the dissapointed.

I'm still saving my pennies. It will be a little late for my birthday(October 5), but Christmas is just around the corner. As I've stated before, if more people buy the set, this should show the "high ranking Universal officials" that there is indeed interest in TOS. Maybe after the miniseries airs, they'll decide to give Larson & DeSanto a shot at a feature film. Just a little positive thinking. It's also a good sign that Walmart will be selling the DVD set.

The BIGWIGS always KNEW that interest in the ORIGINAL
BSG series existed. They just didn't care. THey thought
that there were enough people who recognized the NAME
of BSG but not the story line. Welllllllllll Looks like they
were WRONG about that...anyway.

In any case when their major demographic .....doesn't
like what they see .............

I didn't get a notice. I just cancelled my original order and re-ordered the set again at the new lower price. BSG in crisp clear DVD. Woohoo! I'm so excited!

Okay shiningstar you asked for it!!!

On a cold Nova Scotia morning, Stinky Beaver spotted his neighbor Harry walking around the dam. Harry was wearing only a pajama top and nothing else below that.

"What's the idea?" asked Stinky.

"I don't know" answered the half naked Harry. "The other day I walked over to the drug store without a scarf and got a stiff neck. It's my wife's idea."
