OT: What shows would you like to see come back?
This is borrowed from OWD over at the nuthouse but it would be interesting to see your choices.
1. What TV show would you like to see a continuation of (apart from BSG)?
2. What TV show would you like to see a remake of?
Here are my answers.
1. (a) Magnum pi (my favourite TV show) I'd like to see a two hour TV movie, maybe Thomas becoming a pi again after retiring from the Navy, helped by the usual gang and his daughter.
(b) A final TV movie of Prey (quite popular over here in Blighty), though Debra Messing's salary would be a bit of a problem I suspect!
(c) A mini-series of Space: Above And Beyond. Definitely up for some more Wildcard action.
2. (a) Someone to do a U.S. version of the BBC series SF Blake's 7, a gang of convicted criminals rebelling against a fascist Earth Federation aboard an alien super-spaceship called Liberator.
(b) Automan 2.0. Fondly remembered by quite a few people. With the adavancement of CGI and the popularity of superheroes, this is a no-brainer!
What are your picks?
Regards,
Peter

Here I Go
I think the idea of bringing V back as a continuation shows great business sense. I hope they decide to do a Space 1999 remake with some of the original cast. Landau could play the part of Bergman. I was also reading that there many of the fans want a DS9 movie. I agree. Sisko was a great character who was left in limbo like poor Starbuck at the end of G-1980

I'd love to see a reunion or the Cosby Show, to see if they finally got all the kids out of the house, if Vanessa and Dabnis stayed together, and if Rudy and "Bud" got together or are still just good friends.
The Hardy Boys would be a nifty one to redo. Mystery Shows are always fun.

I Say it's time to start a Drive to
RE-IMAGINE Deep Space Nine.
SISKO - Alcoholic, angry, blames his Mentally Retarded son Jake for the death of his Mother who was gang raped by Evil Bajoran Priests angry at the violent take over of their station.
DAX - The Only Man on the Station who truly understands Sisko. Secretly in love with Sisko.
Let's give Star Trek the Re-Imagining it deserves. Of course, I'm now an expert, because although I didn't watch much of Deep Space Nine, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...

CONTINUATIONS/REUNIONS:
Moonlighting(Maddie Hayes is kidnapped and it's up to David Addison to find her).
Miami Vice(Castillo is shot and Crockett & Tubbs work outside the law to find who did it.)
Space:Above & Beyond
Greatest American Hero
REMAKES:
Space:1999
Buck Rogers(Since the '79 version was a remake, this wouldn't bother me.)
Cyborg/The Six Million Dollar Man(it would be interesting to see contemporary adaptions of all four novels without the changes for the TV series.)

1. "The Man from Uncle"
(1.B) "The A-Team"
(1.C) "V"
On Question 2
2. "Kung Fu" (a new kick ass version, not the wimpy PC laden 1970's one)
(B) "Monkey"! Based on the Chinese legend tale "Journey to the West" one without camp, an updated, hard and edgy version instead!
(C) Gerry Anderson's U.F.O. series
(D) Sapphire and Steel (little known U.K. series with David McCallum from The Man from Uncle*)

Ok, I'll get more detailed.
1) Airwolf, V, Knight Rider with a new actor and a better car not that team knight rider felgercarp they put out a bit ago, Doctor who (I know it's british but I just got through watching the series with a group of friends who between us managed to get all the tapes they released to vid), McGuyver (not sure if I spelled it right?), A-Team would be nice, but not the same..., I remember magnum pi..
Top priority for me of the above will alway remain with airwolf.
2) Not many I'd like to see remade, space 1999 would be cool.. I do wish they'd redo such movies as Battlefield Earth and wing commander though...

1) Robotech/Macross: We never found out what happened to Rick Hunter and company after they went into space ....
2) Space: Above and Beyond: At least a TV movie or miniseries to address the unanswered questions left by the finale
3) Twin Peaks: Left with a mega-cliffhanger unresolved (namely, Agent Cooper being possessed by "BOB")
4) Most importantly, Galactica 1980: Did Starbuck ever get off that planet or what?

Who owns the rights to airwolf? I think we should at least start a campaign to get it put back on the air in reruns and released on dvd. If they haven't done so already, if they have my store doesn't get them...

A Knight rider movie is in the works. Produced by David haslehoff who may appear as Devin Miles...
MacGuiver is also getting the movie treatment with a Young Mac in the lead and Richard Dean Anderson as the mentor fogure.
An A-Team movie have also been rumored but i havent heard about it latly.
Doctor Who is always on the verge of coming back but they never seem to get it right.

I'd like to see Airwolf done up as an animated movie like Final Fantasy.
Then they could make a cool CGI character of Hawke & Dominic that looks like Jan Michel Vincent and Ernist Borgnine in their prime.

too bad they are not here in the states
Volume 3 has the best episode
Moffett's Ghost On a secret mission behind the Iron Curtain, Hawke loses control of the onboard computer, which was programmed on a timer by Airwolf's creator, Dr. Moffett... now Airwolf is set to destroy any aircraft in its range.

In reply to Philloz question
{1) Robotech/Macross: We never found out what happened to Rick Hunter and company after they went into space ....}
Thats because the Macross series in the U.S. known as Robotech is made up of the original Macross and two other anime's "Southern Cross" and "Mospeda" (New Generation) thats why Rick's arc never really was realised or met any conclusions outside the Macross storyline in Robotech.
Word is "Robotech 3000" is in the works, so if you're a fan of Robotech/Macross you must already know of this! But i'll point it out to everyone here anyways. My opinion is nothing will really come close to the classic Macross epic saga (Southern Cross comes close though)
As for more on the continuation/remake question
Continuations
1) Sliders (For a series that really got worse and changed too much, after seasons 4 and 5 you really want to find out about what happen after Rembrant Brown slide to "Earth Prime" in the last episode?)
2) Blake's 7 ??? Did Avon really get it ? (Come on in sci-fi there is hundred and one ways to come back)
3) Forever Knight (Canadians loved this series and so did we, over here in the U.K.)
4) The Invisible Man (2 seasons ain't enough we want more?)
5) {Animation/Cartoon Wise} we want: Thundercats, The Adventures of The Galaxy Rangers, Dungeons and Dragons, Visionaries, Ulysses31, Batman and Superman adventures (from the WB).
6) The Six Million Dollar Man (What have the O.S.I. been doing all these years?)
Remakes
1) Dragonball GT (if you followed Z and watched this you know what i'm talking about?)

They produced 3 episodes of a series called the Sentenels.
It was supposed to take place after the macross saga and tells the story of the mission to the Robotech masters homeworld.
They never finished it becasue of some kind of strike that happned in hollywood at the time but they made the firts 3 episodes into a movie and released it.
It and The soundtrack should be available where even you get your anime.
There is also a book series by the same name that raps up all the loose ends

It was a very bad, bad, baaaaad dream. He was never there, nor was Angela, Cy, or the baby Dr. Zee. It was all a baaaaaaad dream. It was good to see Dirk at that point, but it was a baaaaad dream. It meant something worse happened to Apollo. It was a total nightmare.

Yes, I've seen the Sentinels video. It's a very frustrating thing to watch ... all you get is a taste of what was planned.
I've read the "Jack McKinney" books as well, and they were okay, but they were basically made up out of whole cloth since James Luceno and the late Brian Daley (the writing team that made up "Jack McKinney") didn't have much in the way of completed scripts to work with.

Unfortunately, Brian died in 1996 of pancreatic cancer, just before recording was completed on his radio play adaptation of "Return of the Jedi." He was especially beloved by "Star Wars" fans for his terrific work on the radio series and his popular trilogy of Han Solo novels, which are considered "official" canon lore by Lucasfilm.
His last work, the "Gamma L.A.W." series, was completed and edited by Luceno and published after his death.
