Thumbs up I still support and respect Richard Hatch

Well, I've not seen the Let Down myself. I canceled my cable subscription after they informed me they would be unable to remove the Sci Fi channel from their line up. But from what everyone has said about it, I don't think Mr. Hatch did anything wrong. Apparently he conveyed his dislike for the direction of the mini series, and that's good enough for me. So I still support the ol' boy. Sound off if your with me.

I think the reason he did it was to give a voice for the old show. If you notice, everyone was bashing it. He was the only one there to stand up for it.

To respond to this fully would be to repeat what I said at CA and in the other thread here.

Suffice it to say Richard Hatch (and Dirk Benedict) are still tops in my book.

I agree Hatch has done everything in his power to keep Galactica alive, we the fans owe him. He was dfending tos and was obviously NOT betraying the fans .
Dirk and Richard are still #1 with me.

Default Richard Rocks!

I think that Richard did a pretty good job defending TOS (despite editing). Whether anyone likes it or not, he does a great job speaking up for us - at least his words make it into the media. When I read Micheleh's post from Richard answering the accusations of his "betrayal", I got the impression that he was the one feeling betrayed. He's done a lot and put his home, name and reputation on the line. No matter how many hours, petitions, letters, e-mails, or what-have-you - he's done so much more.

He's got my support - no matter what anyone's opinion is. You don't pull out on someone just because you don't like what someone does for one day of his life. How would anyone else like to be judged for their actions on one particular day from then on? I would hope that my friends would be more understanding than that!

You go Richard!

Default Thr REAL World

Both Richard and Dirk are ACTORS. To snub TPTB is suicide. They say Hollywood is harded than politics.

ummm forgive my ignorance but how were they supposed to betray us? Everything that I've seen them do was in FAVOR of the fans.

Trevor -

Supposedly, the mere appearance of Richard and Dirk on a SciFi show that promotes the mini-series is why a precious few is what is laughingly referred to as "betrayal". I think that their intentions were good and they did their best to represent TOS and those of us that appreciate the original. My personal take on this is that if that's all it takes to turn them away, their support was of the "fair weather" variety. If they want to feel bad, fine let them feel bad. The reality of it is, if it bothers some, accept what happened, deal with the feelings and move on. Wallowing in a self-inflicted state of bad feelings is a lousy bed to lie in.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I did not see tthis special you are referring to but come on! They were there to remind people of the ORIGINAL if anything. This reminds me of when every one trashed Dirk for having coffee with Katee. Yes it was a publicity stunt but still. People were attacking them. this kind of reaction will only tear us apart and force people away from listening to us. We have to stick to gether or we are doing SciFi's job of tearing our support away for them.

Yes. I agree with you trevor. But at the same time we shouldn't condemn each other. (not that you are )

We must remember to support each other. And together bear the storm of the next few weeks.

Default I Still Support Mr Hatch and Mr Benedict

I can see how it can break some peoples' hearts. But I suspect the observation that there are certain things you have to go do when you are doing business in Hollyweird, er Hollywould, um you know where, has a certain ring of truth to it. For all I know, they were standing in the crowd yelling out to the mini-smearies, "Jump! Jump!"

I don't know Richard personally, but judging from his committment to the series, I don't believe he would ever betray us or the true spirit of BSG.

I'm with Richard all the way.

How can anyone say that Richard Hatch has betrayed the fans after putting up his own money to shoot The Second Coming? I am on Richard's side 100%. The people that have betrayed the fans are Bonnie Hammer, Ronald D. Moore and everyone else responcible for the mini.

I know I am with Hatch I mean.

And I think Bijou stated it perfectly.

Hatch didn't betray the fans .....MORE, HAMMER and everyone
else responsible for the MINI did.
