Except that whenever you say "a friend of mine", people always know that it's you.

Like,
"I had this friend who has an itchy rash and he..."
And people slowly edge away from you.
I don't mean you per se, but "you" in general.

Ack! Not me, a friend, really!

My Deep Thought for today:
As of right now I have 777 posts. What a perfect number, God's number. Nearly everything in the bible was sevens, God's number of perfection. And Star Wars came out in '77 to add to the wonder of the number.

I don't think that I will make any more posts. I should keep it at 777 posts and dwell in the perfection of that number. I shant not post another post, dare not I to increase that number.

Tom is fine... though the decompressive shock of entering this thread unprepared caught me off guard for a sec.

*remembers to breath*

I'm feeling better now.

That is your own fault you know, you being the Geordi LaForge of the boards. You should have maintained the equipment to keep the air pressure at a consistant level from thread to thread, so that there would be no danger of decompression upon entering a seperate thread. Then you wouldn't have to worry about being unprepared for varying air pressures.

BWAHAHA!

Yup..... I was so worried about losing containment in the warp drive I didn't notice people passing out from moving from thread to thread.

*trips over Shiningstar*

OOOPS! SORRY!

Time for a new deep thought. NYPDBlue is one of my favorite shows. I'd noticed that whenever they inform someone of their loved one or close friend having been murdered, or just breaking the news to them about their loved one's death, they always ask them, "Would you like a glass of water?" Every episode when they tell someone that their loved one is dead, they then offer them a glass of water. I always thought this extremely odd. I mean, what is the water going to do, comfort them and make them feel better? I always thought that if I found out my loved one was dead, that drinking or eating anything would be the last thing on my mind. Why would someone want a glass of water upon learning of their loved one's death? It just didn't make sense that offering a glass of water was supposed to make the person feel better. The day I found out my mom was going to die within a few days (she actually lasted for just over 2 weeks, but the one doctor told me that she would die in 3-4 days), I had been summoned to the hospital by my cousin. I had gone home while my mom was in intensive care, just to shower and take care of some things before going back because nobody knew how long she was going to be there. I knew something was up when my cousin called me again on my cell and asked me how close I was to the hospital. That spoke volumes to me. I had a tall bottle of water with me, with a squirt top on it, though I wasn't really thirsty but I had just taken it from the fridge. Then, in the room with the doctor I sat knowing what he was going to tell me even before he said it. My cousins came in and surrounded me and put their hands on my shoulders and I knew what was coming. I told the doctor "just cut to the chase, I know what you're going to say..." but he kept talking about all the things that couldn't be done or whatever else that came from his mouth, and I told him, "just tell me already, damn it! I know what you're going to say, so just say it!" and I kept taking swigs from the water bottle. My mouth was getting dryer and dryer, no matter how much water I drank, my mouth just went dry again. Then he told me that we had to stop dialysis and let her die because there was nothing we could do, and that she would die in 3-4 days. And I drank more water. But still my mouth was dry. For the next hour I refilled the bottle several times from a water fountain because my mouth was so damn dry. For the next two weeks, and in the last week and a half since she went, I drank more water than I ever did before (I'm usually a soda drinker). Strangely enough, I think my mom would be pleased, she always did say I drank too much soda and should drink more water. Go figure.

Now I understand why they always offer them a drink of water on NYPDBlue. And that was my deep thought of the day.
