Default What could have been - April 2002

Merry X-mas to all & a Happy New Year.

Came across this the other day on the scifi board.

In light of what's going on, am posting this to let everyone know what could have been.

UNIVERSAL, Richard Hatch and Tom Desanto have finally made a compromise in which
all 3 parties can agree on. The 4-hour tele-movie will premier in December but not as a
pilot. Instead it will serve as a closure for the Galactica franchise. The ongoing series will
highly be Unlikely. This 4 hour will be darker than the original series. Just think of this
being The Empire Strikes Back and the original series being The Phantom Menace. There
will be a ray of light in the closing. Some people here will like this and some people here
will hate this .
What's written below contains major spoilers...............

The working title will be:
GALACTICA:The Final Stand

The Plot Summary:For 10 years prior to the opening,Baltar's Cylon forces that were
hunting the fleet in the original series has also been defeated. Their final battle was known
to be the bloodiest battle recorded in Colonial history. Also recorded in the midst of the
battle was an unexplained space phenomenon that claimed the disappearance and possible
destruction of several Cylon Raiders and Colonial Vipers including Apollo. For those who
are speculating that it could be the ship of lights, it is not the ship of lights or Count Iblie.
Lt. Damian was decorated after this battle and rose quickly in ranks in the upcoming
years. Starbuck on the other hand resigned his commitments to the fleets after losing both
Cassiopeia and Apollo and left his world behind as he knows it to a life aboard the Rising
Star. He will chose a life of over indulging himself in overdrinking and womanizing.
As many fans has speculated in the past. The fleet has indeed settled on a new planet and
has been in the state of rebuilding their fleet, colonies and technology. With the absence of
the Cylons, they were able upgrade their technology to far more superior capacity then
they ever had during their pre-holocaust time.
But when the phenomenon reappears on sensors by a patrol led by Troy, Adama believes
it be an omen from the book of Kobal and insists that he himself must investigate it. For
Adama's own safety Damian insists that he accompany him to investigate and reluctantly
allows Troy along as well. As the mystery behind the phenomenon unfolds Damian's true
colors shows and Adama is murdered in the outcome and Troy narrowly escapes back to
fleet. The Phenomenon will play a role in the return of the Cylons forces now commanded
by Damian.
The plot thickens when The Colonial chooses to stand and fight to the end rather than let
the Cylons hunt them across the Galaxy once again.

The fate of the characters:

Keep in mind that there will be several new main characters young and older in the
tele-movie. I thought that the fans will be more concern about what will happen to the
originals. Once again I must warn you this is major spoilors. If you do not want to know
the outcome than read no more.................

Still there I see. Well here it goes.

Commander Adama- will be betrayed and murdered by Damian at the end of the second
hour.

Starbuck-will break out of his self pity slump after Adama's death and lead a new
generation of Colonial Warriors into several battles. Unfortunately he will be killed within
the final climatic battle towards the end. Both Tom and Dirk wanted to see Starbuck's
demise in a blaze of glory rather than the 1980 version where they left him stranded on
that barren planet.

Apollo- Richard Hatch will reappear towards the end of the 3rd hour and will be protrayed
as the turning point in the losing war with the Cylons. He will sacrifice his own life to save
the colonies and die in one the final scenes.

Boomer-will be a bridge officer and will probably survive and become a council member
towards the end.

Athena-will be the new Commander when all this is over.

Sheba- will have a death cameo. It is unknown yet whether Anne will sign for this or not.

Tigh-will be forced to run for President to unravel the mysteries behind Adama's death. He
will be obsessed in finding out once and for all was Adama's death heroic or was he
murdered by his political enemies? Tigh Unfortunately pays that price with his own life in
the beginning of the 4th hour.

Troy/Boxy-will survive the outcome and become the newest decorated hero for the
Colonials.

The Cylons will be defeated once and for all when this is over.

This is intended to be the Swan Song for the Original Series.

As I posted before Galactica will be a 4 hour mini series but fear not it will not be a swan
song.

As I posted yesterday for the Plot Summary For 10 years prior to the opening,Baltar's
Cylon forces that were hunting the fleet in the original series has also been defeated. Their
final battle was known to be the bloodiest battle recorded in Colonial history. Also
recorded in the midst of the battle was an unexplained space phenomenon that claimed the
disappearance and possible destruction of several Cylon Raiders and Colonial Vipers

quickly in ranks in the upcoming years. Starbuck on the other hand resigned his
commitments to the fleets after losing both Cassiopeia and Apollo and left his world
behind as he knows it to a life aboard the Rising Star. He will chose a life of over
indulging himself in overdrinking and womanizing.
As many fans has speculated in the past. The fleet has indeed settled on a new planet and
has been in the state of rebuilding their fleet, colonies and technology. With the absence of
the Cylons, they were able upgrade their technology to far more superior capacity then
they ever had during their pre-holocaust time.
But when the phenomenon reappears on sensors by a patrol led by Troy, Adama believes

by Damian.

That part is about 80 percent acurate at this time but I bet there will be some changes.
Most important Michael Ironsides character is only a working name it's almost a garantee
that they will come up with a better name.

Don't forget that Richard Hatch's character was originaly name Skyler.

The real probable fate of the characters:

Commander Adama- wont die until the end of the 4th hour.

Starbuck-will break out of his self pity slump after the Cylon's return and lead a new
generation of Colonial Warriors into several battles. Fortunately he will NOT be killed
within the final climatic battle towards the end.All parties involved wants Dirk to be part
of the on-going series if it gets picked up. Dirk is definately in.

Apollo- If all goes well then hopefully Richard Hatch will reappear with in the 3rd hour
and will be protrayed as the turning point in the losing war with the Cylons. He will NOT
die in one the final scenes.

Boomer-will be a bridge officer and will probably survive and become a council member
towards the end.

Athena-will NOT be the new Commander when all this is over.

Sheba- No word on Anne yet.

Tigh-No word on Terry Carter yet. Tigh will be forced to run for President to unravel the
mysteries behind the possible politicle coruptions with in the Council of 12. His character
is planned to be carried over if the series picks up.

Troy/Boxy-will survive the outcome and become the newest decorated hero for the
Colonials.

The Cylons will be Deadlier and ruthless than ever.

This will be like the new Firestarter, hopefully it will be done better and if it rates well than
the series is in the bag. Preproduction is already underway for the Firestarter series
because of the ratings. I think that the Galactica mini series can kick Firestarter's mini
series ass.

Unfortunatly fans may have to keep letting their voices to be heard if they want to have
Apollo brought in the proper way.

There is no mention of Sheba at this time so you may want to speak up for her. She would
be a very important character if the Pegasus was to ever reappear in the ongoing series.

Tigh is already a written character and if you want Terry to reprise the role than speak up
for him as well.

Well I will be missing in action for a while but I will pop up from time to time to say hello.
I advise everybody to join the Colonial Fleet Bboard. It's a nice place to discuss and have
friendly debates. This place has just became too much attack of the clone wars for my
taste and it's going to frighten off some newcomers. Why the blood shed? Its just a TV
show.

Nuff Said
