HELP (with a song)...
Just listened to a song that I've known for years......
but, I CANNOT remember the singer .. (old age, senility all come to mind)
Anyway, the lyrics include --
"If I could fly, I'd give you....."
I know the song, I've heard it thousands of times before but, I am simply drawing a blank. I think the song is from the early 80's.
Can someone help me??

Here you go
Into the Night - Benny Mardones
She's just sixteen years old
Leave her alone, they say
Separated by fools
Who don't know what love is yet
But I want you to know -
CHORUS:
If I could fly
I'd pick you up
I'd take you into the night
And show you a love
Like you've never seen - ever seen.
It's like having a dream
Where nobody has a heart
It's like having it all
And watching it fall apart
And I would wait till the end of time for you
And do it again, it's true
I can't measure my love
There's nothing to compare it to
But I want you to know -
CHORUS

I have that album. It's called "Nowhere to Hide." Funny thing about that song, twice it went to the top 10 on the charts. It went the first time it was released and then again in 1987 or so when they rereleased it!
Benny is also known as "The Voice." He is still out there and plays concerts. You can check out his website...
