Need help from artists

I know I really shouldn't be doing another project right now with all I have on the go but what the hell. lol

I've done a few trailers not to long ago featuring Darrell's art work on shattered worlds and a what if trailer featuring Don's foundation trailer. It's a (what would a trailer for a Desanto and Larson movie look like) kind of scenario.

With the news that Glen A. Larson and Tom Desanto are still talking and planning for such a project, I'm looking at doing another trailer.

The only problem is that I need some sort of image of Dirk Benedict smoking a cigar on the Bridge of the Galactica the way Tom Desanto described it in his opening scene.

Just something like him taking a quick puff or a drawing of him holding a cigar or taking a puff.

Weather it be a drawing or manipulation of video to make it look like he is standing there smoking a cigar at roughly the same age he is today, I would greatly appreciate it. It's something that will be a quick fade in and out so it doesn't have to be all that extravagant.

Sounds like a good project.

According to Brian, aka Mr I Hate Galactica, aka my husband, there is a "fairly" easy way to do this using actual footage and the right equipment. If you could get footage of the shot you want that is high enough in contrast, you can mask off the backgound in an editing program such as Final Cut Pro. Then you can "green screen" Dirk into any scenario. (That could be interesting!)

Brian does not have time to volunteer himself but he would be willing to talk to you or someone about the process. Apparently, if there is enough contrast, it is pretty easy.

And it's totally OK for your hubby to hate Galactica. We all like and dislike different things. That's what makes the world go round.

I'm very interested in the whole editing video thing but in order to get into it, I would need another 2 copies of me to do it. lol
I totally understand not having the time to do it. That's pretty much where I'm at right now.

I might look into Final cut pro. Is there a Windows version?

Nope. It is made by Apple. I am sure there are other programs that will do the same. Adobe Premiere might do it. Also, there may be a plug-in for Sony's program, the name of which escapes me.

I have windows movie maker so just maybe that might work.
