Glad you are back. I took a little vacation too. I only came to moderate the cafe. Seems to be settling down now hopefully...

Too young and a shock! I expected Cash to go soon, but not Ritter. Both were talented men and will be missed greatly.
My prayers are with both families.

Dissecting Abdominal Arortic Anurysm to be exact. I use to assist on those in surgery. Older folks are tested for that routinely, but the younger ones aren't so it can sneak up on you. There are more and more of them caught in time these days when you have complete physicals on a yearly basis. After I read the article, it clicked. Once they rupture you can bleed out in a matter of minutes. If you have them in your family history...don't fool around ..get checked on a regular basis. When it happens; it happens quickly. There are no symptoms until it is to late and there are tests that can identify them early. *Em gets off soapbox*

And now for a story!!!
==================================================
The Story of Repugnal
Once upon a time there was a beaver named Dimmy. He was called Dimmy cuz he was a dimwit and no other name fit. When he was born his belly button was on his butt, which is odd because I don’t think beavers have belly buttons at all. When his mom asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, he said he wanted to be a proctologist, so he could help other beavers with belly buttons on their butts.
Anyway, Dimmy was chewing on a woodchuck one day and ran into the most beautiful beaver he had ever seen. Her name was Repugnal (no /not/ Rapunzel, this beaver was *howl* a real dog). The two fell desperately in love and Repugnal stroked Dimmy’s misplaced navel while Dimmy adored Repugnal’s enormous – teeth! Yes, Repugnal had the most enormously long choppers you’ve ever seen. And Dimmy was so enameled – errr, enamored with them it was crazy.
But this evil witch with a talking mirror – nope, wrong story – with ruby slippers – nope, still wrong – ah, heck, she weighs the same as a duck! Okay??? Anywho, she was jealous so she imprisoned Repugnal in a tall tower (a new tower – the old one burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp). Poor Dimmy. How could he see his beloved beaver?
This story would get really long if I told you how many stupid things Dimmy tried, but Repugnal finally told him what to do. The idea was simple – Dimmy would wait at the bottom of the tall tower and Repugnal would let down her teeth, so Dimmy could climb up to her.
“Repugnal, Repugnal, let down your teeth, so that I may climb the ivory sheath!”. Repugnal obliged, but her teeth proved too slippery to climb. So she applied Crest White Strips every few feet as a kind of handhold. That would have worked but she accidentally impaled Dimmy.
The End.

Thanks! It's great to be here at last. Sorry about Dimmy, Muffit.
Since I asked for milk, and you're offering stronger drinks ... how about Irish Cream?

Oh man! I never really came into this thread!!!!!!
I think I did long ago...but boy have you all been having fun!
I guess I've been too busy to enjoy all the fun here. But NOw with the heat died down and antiG2003 flames cooler I can actually enjoy some threads here.
btw today tommy fixed an error on the PM page when there are no messages. Switched us back to the old template. Created a new 911 icon on the old one and installed it. Made Stray Vipers Avatar. Fine tuned the warrior pins under moderators avatars (the old ones looked fat and out of proportion). And a few minor changes to templates to make titles read better when you search for new threads.
Now that there is no more insanity I can fiddle and play.

Juno/netzero has a VERY annoying way of dealing with technical problems.
First I couldn't ask anything, I had to find a platinum member to ask for me.
Then every time we emailed them, I told them what the problem was, but instead of fixing it they said "try this ___". We would try that, and then email them "it didn't work." But it wouldn't go back to the same tech guy, and they wouldn't reread the complaint so I kept having to repeat myself over and over .....
that's why it took so long!!!!!

OH.... When I first got glasses I kept bumping into everything for a couple of days!! My arms were sore, but I could finally see again.
I have contacts now and I love them. (I have my peripheral vision back)

Yeah Amber, in a way people with good vision don't realize what they're missing. To go from glasses to contacts is amazing. Suddenly your tunnel vision is gone.
'Course, I love looking at Christmas lights without my lenses, they get all big and blurry and beautiful.
