Entire Class Suspended for Food Fight
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A cafeteria food fight on ``meat loaf day'' led to the suspension of the entire eighth-grade class at a Memphis school. The students were suspended after refusing to clean up the mess they caused.
``Given an opportunity first to apologize for their behavior and help with the cleanup, most of the class refused to cooperate,'' school spokesman Vince McGaskill said.
The food fight broke out Wednesday at Geeter Middle School, which has 637 students in grades six through eight. Meat loaf and chicken were on the menu.
Principal Jada Meeks suspended students who were in the cafeteria during the fight, meaning the youngsters' parents must meet with school officials before the children can return to class.
The cause of the disturbance was not immediately known. No serious injuries were reported.
``Suspending students is never desirable,'' McGaskill said. ``In this case, the principal felt that strong, some may say shocking measures, were called for to spur change.''

"Food Fight!!!!!!!"
you may commence with the pie throwing now

I remember my middle school food fightin' days. We had one during a major thunderstorm. The power suddenly went out, we were in pitch black darkness, when the food started flying. That was cool ...

That had to be funny as hell! Complete darkness, food flying and landing in people's faces, no one knowing what they were being hit with....What a sight it must have been when the lights came back on.

Yeah it was funny! Nobody knew who started it, in fact I think everybody did. It was one of those magical spontaneous things. The lights went out and after about 3 seconds of silence it seemed like everybody realized the opportunity at the same time. I was sitting at the far end of the cafeteria with my friends, so luckily I wasn't right in the middle of all the action. I emerged with only a few stains. We will forever be a part of Kazen Middle School lore.

School cafeteria meat loaf -- hey, if my memory serves me correctly, that's WORTH getting suspended over! I'd rather eat KalKan...

uh huh! but in the schools I went to you knew it was Salisbury Steak for lunch when half of your class that normally bought their lunches brought something to eat instead! That meal was akin to "mystery meat". The looks we gave it were something like this !
