play name that series from the pic

I was going to post this at Cylon Alliance because it goes with the spirit of "saving the futures past", but its down and I cannot log on for some password kiniption fit reason.

Heres the deal. Try to name the science fiction series by identifying the vehicle or space station. Have fun, there is one real stinker in there.

Those are very cool pics, but I really only recognize the Star Trek one and the Galactica one (at least I think they are from those shows...). I need to refresh my memory on some scifi shows apparently.

Oh this looks fun. I pop in and luckily see a really sweet idea for a thread.

Well.... I see the Starlost, from SStarlost on top.

The next I think is a maQui ship from DS9, though I could be off. It maight be that new alien they introduced at the end of the series.

Don't know the next. Looks like Gerry Anderson's work. Looks like a Space 1999 guest star ship.

Interceptors from UFO

The next is Lady Penelope's car from Thunderbirds. Probably the new series.

The solar sailer from DS9

EEP .. I know alot of ships that look like this. But since its missing a wing on one side I would say When Worlds Collide.

And the last two are from Space Academy!

No. 2 is a Jem'Hadar Attack Ship from Star Trek DS9

No. 3 is from Space:1999 - from the two-part episode 'The Bringers Of Wonder'

No. 6 is from 'Battle Beyond The Stars' - Dr. Hephaestus' space station

No. 9 is from 'Destination Moon'

I don't normally stereotype, but I think it's a guy thing. Guys like cars, spaceships are just wicked fast cars, ipso facto ergo: guys recognize more spaceships than we do... or at least that's what I am going to believe to protect my fragile ego...

I was thinking that too...I usually get caught up in the stroy line and relationships more than anyghing else but I do love the space ships! Only I did not get to see much of the programs I wanted to see when I was a kid my parents were very strict about what I could watch. I was not allowed to watch batman and robin because it was too violent!

The only show or movie I wasn't allowed to watch before I became a teenager was "Risky Business" and I watched it when I was babysitting one night with one finger on the stop button so I wouldn't get caught...

And yet, I was allowed to read anything I wanted. If you have ever read the 1,000 plus page version of "The Voyages of Marco Polo" you will realize why I thought Risky Business was nothing.

Which has nothing at all to do with spaceships, sorry!

I was not allowed to read harlequin romances or anything like that nor was I allowed to read the thornbirds because of the sex scenes. I was 17 at the time, I borrowed it from the library and thought the sex scenes were so boring! By then I'd seen WAY more on tv in the afternoon than anything in a book my poor mother!

I agree with you - the 50's, 60's & 70's had a boatload of Sci Fi movies and TV shows along with some fantastic hardware. I was able to name them all over at CA, but my post got wiped out with their daily problems this week. I was kind of surprised that I could remember them all. The only one that made me pause was the drawing of the "Ark" rocket from "When Worlds Collide" - I had to pay close attention - there were so many similar rocket designs used in the 50's....

So I was right about the When Worlds Collide rocket? I was confused a bit by the fourth leg like strut. If I recall, it was finless on one side and took off on a long ramp that went up a mountain. And it landed on its belly.

Theh only one that I had no clue on was the Battle Beyond the Stars station. The only ship I recal from that movie was the one with the giant breasts on the front. And who could forget that! LOL

You are correct - here is a pic from the movie:

As you can see, it is quite a bit similar to the drawing, but there is an extra set of fins.

But, I did remember the name of the Jason of Star Comand ship - it was a Star Fury!

Okay here are the answers......

1) ...is the Arc from Starlost

2) .....is a JemHadar attack ship from Deep Space 9

3) ....is a phantasmal ship from a Space 1999 episode (Bringers of Wonder?).

4) ...are Interceptors from UFO. Which unknown to many is the prequel series to Space 1999.

5)....is Lady Penelopes car "recreated" for the live action flick Thunderbirds coming soon to a theater near you. If you can swallow your gorge at watching another kid flick it might be a bit of fun. Heck I'm sure its a good bet FOR the kids if you got em.
I sure enjoyed the puppet action of the original Thunderbirds

6) ....is the Starfire from Jason of Star Command

7) .... yes its the solar sailer from Deep Space 9.

8) ....is the Rocket from Destination Moon!

9 and 10) ....are both from Space Academy which was clearly better in every way compared to Jason of Star Command ( my twelve year old self got in a very big argument over the 'reimagination' of Space Academy into Jason of Star Command

).
9 is the academy station and 10 is a 'Seeker' (shuttle type ship, I dont think it was armed).

11) .....is Dr Hephaestus' station from Battle Beyond the Stars. .

Ioraptor -

To be more specific - that ship is a SuperSwift pilot ship. It was supposed to be a FTL capable ship that took Alan Carter & 2 other Alphans back to Earth. It was, of course, all in their minds and they were really piloting an Eagle spacecraft...

You did get the episode correct - it was the 2-part Year 2 episode "Bringers of Wonder".

Yes, thanks for clarifying that. I knew in the back of my mind that the little vessel wasnt a Swift, but I couldnt remember how it figured into that episode.
Ofcourse my favorite vehicles were the Hawks!

Sad thing was, they were hallucinations created as a warning by an alien intelligence.
