Angry Suffering from frustration and withdrawals

I am finding this problem with the server very frustrating.
Whenever I come out to play, I can not take it for granted that I will be let in. When you do get in, I am finding that with every post, I am on tender hooks, not knowing if I will succeed. As soon as you start relaxing, thinking the problems have been resolved, BANG! You are out in the cold, with your post frozen in front of you.
You then spend the next hour or so refreshing, in futile hope that you can get to the thread. Eventually, you get in Your post, is now out of date. But thats ok, as you can steal back the thread.
Then there is times, like last night, when the doors are sealed shut all night.
What are we to do with ourselves? Go on another forum? NO, as none are as nice as this one! This one is like home, full of lovely people.
I just had to suffer in silence (and maybe a choice few profanities), having to deal with this horrible withdrawal.

I know how you feel. There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home and that home is CF.

I am glad that I was not the only one suffering last night!
Maybe we need to set up a support group, to help us all through this ordeal!

I'm in the same boat as all of you. I hate the drop outs too.

And Me and Don are sorry about the dropouts.

We will be moving servers as soon as it can be arranged.

Me and Don have very old friends, and they have been helping CF all this time while being nameless. We depend on them at times since Me and Don are idiots when it comes to the digital heart of this machine. So our friends are going to help us. But there is alot to do and busy schedules to work around.

But alot of good guys behind the scene are doing what they can for us. I am very grateful for them.

In the meantime, we are very sorry about the blackouts.

If you really need to, I can set up a chatroom or a temporary forum on my spare server. Its not that reliable, but its better than this one right now.

I do not think any one blames you or Don, I know I certainly don't. And you are such a clever person to do what you do for the site.
Do you know what is the problem with the servers?

uhmmm... probably just a bad choice of server hosts. You don't always get the best service with server hosts. Sometimes they try to stick too many accounts on one server. Or they don't check it enough. its hard to tell which servers are good. Especially if you can't pay for those premium servers out there.

You ARE so sweet
You do look out for all of us
Would it be alot of hard work for you to do that?
And do you think the result would be worth it?
Cos if it is, it would be great to have something more reliable, so we dont have to suffer from these withdrawals so often. But I dont know how the others would feel about it.
You are the best

I have a hard time with the withdrawls when I go see my family. The only place I have access to a computer is my sister's but I am not there long enough to be online!

I do not know if this makes me a sad case or not,
but whenever I am out, I am thinking that whether I will have time when I get back, to nip on for a quick chat with all my new buddies.
Does that make me really sad?

Well then Sorrell that makes me equally sad...so far I have snuck off during parties, funeral things, school; friend’s houses...just to read or post something. I actually feel resentful if I "have" to go to something like a movie because I know I won't be able to get online. I don't have an addictive personality in any other realm in my life, well accept for BSG and a few other shows but really I'm beginning to think I need professional intervention!!!

Like you I dont have an addictive personality, I dont smoke or do drugs and I dont drink alcohol often (that one is not by choice!). Since I have joined, I have not let my boyfriend stay over, just so I can visit fleets. I must say he is non too happy, and I have not told him the real reason why he has to go home. I am cruel?

From the 2 cent file:

No, I don't think there's anything wrong with either of you, or ME for that matter. We all seem to share the same "attachment" to this wonderful little island. Although, I never really watched the show, I liken this place to the coffee shop on Friends. We've got a group of folks who like to get together as much as possible and shoot the breeze, etc, because we feel comfortable being around each other. There's not a thing wrong with that.

I remember a line from ST:TNG, where Picard was talking to Riker, about being given a chance, by Q, to correct some of the mistakes from HIS past. When he "corrected" some of those mistakes, it affected the person that he eventually became. Those events were "threads in the tapestry of his life." Similarly, our interactions, here, are threads in the tapestry of OUR lives (no pun intended).

Well, remember that the word "cafe" means "coffee". In case you've forgotten the name of the section we're in.
Have another cup!
