Default BSG Game Thoughts and how about some help

Just played the game for an hour or so. It is nice to see and play. Anyone think it is difficult. I am no game junkie but have played a number of games and it is tough. For a newbie any hints on rescuing cain at the beginning would be appreciated and I know there are lots of boards for this but cheats would be greatly appreciated.

I was fumbling my way through the game at Universal's demo station at Galacticon, as Steve Wilson can attest to. :p I'd have to sit down and seriously understand the controls/options before touching this game again. (But I will... from what I saw, it was well-done!) I demo'ed the game on an Xbox. I have to say, I MUCH prefer a Playstation controller.

Frankly, I was far more interested in flying around the Galactica. What a treat! I can do the same within Lightwave or 3D Studio Max at home, using the models on BattlestarPegasus.com/BattlestarGalactica.com. But you don't get the sound effects, the colorful visuals and the cockpit view like the game.

BTW: Curious to know how Richard does when he sits down to play and flies his Viper? He kicks astrum.

You were fortunate enough to find the game. Walmart still doesn't have it and it seems to be on backorder at other sites. Tomorrow is the supposed release for the X-Box platform. I'll believe it when I see it.

Kingfish -

I did a search of the local area (Northern Calif.) thru BestBuy.com like you did. The closest store that had it was quite a long drive from here, but it did show up in like 3 or 4 stores, just none in the immediate Sacramento area. I can only guess that distribution is going slow, but the game is out there - just not right at hand.

Be patient and keep looking...

I had to post again to hopefully remove the cherry from under my name. I bough the xbox version yesterday even though I saw all of the later release dates. The opening movie is breathtaking. I guess many people have already seen it , but it is worth it just for that. The Galactica looks almost the same as do the Vipers and Raiders. I look forward to seeing the movies in between missions if I CAN JUST FINISH ONE!

Default I got one!

I went to Fry's Electronics this evening to look at wireless routers & cards. I couldn't resist going past the games and I saw both the PS2 & XBox versions of Battlestar Galactica - they had quite a few of each even though it wasn't listed as being in stock on their website. I don't even own a game system at this point, but I told myself that I would get one (finally) and give the game a go. I decided on the PS2 version based on input from friends at work while considering which game system to get. I only had cash on me at the time, so I just went ahead and bought the game. I will go back this weekend and pick up the game system - it'll probably wind up sucking up the rest of my weekend once I get started....

Bryan, I see you live in Roseville. Would that by chance be the Fry's in Sacramento on Northgate Blvd? I have a pretty busy weekend, but I might be able to find some time to drive down to Sacto to pick the game. None of the stores up my way have the game yet.

Starbuck -

That is the Fry's I bought it at - they had quite a few copies of both the PS2 & XBox versions on their shelves....

Happy hunting!

This is an old thread. I think that member has long since faded away leaving behind nothing but a name and a cherry.
