I can participate in letter writing and/or spreading the word, as best I can, but ICQ is probably not an option for me. I'm in the middle of some hectic stuff but will pop in for updates/requests/etc as often as possible.

I too want to chip in my time. Sorry I have been so late in subscribing to this thread, things have been pretty crazy for me these last couple weeks (not much sleep).
I have visited some related (non-BSG) boards and have gotten some very positive feedback from non-BSG fans, which encourages me a lot. Some of them have BSG action figures and remember the show fondly, and you'd be amazed how shocked they are about the new mini direction. We have MANY FRIENDS.

Sent out my second volley today. If I get any responses I'll be sure to post them if they're interestng and not just some standard form letter. Hope you all are doing the same.
Just remember the letters will have the most effectiveness as snail mail. The second most effective would be to fax your letter. The third is the e-mail route, but those who are overseas will have to use this to supplement the other letters.

Want to make a difference a real difference? You know even if we can't get this thing stopped, these letters will still have a good effect.
Think about it, the advertisers are warned not to advertise during this mini.
The mini gets poor ratings.
The advertisers now see the validity of the warnings not to adverstise.
The advertisers rethink their position on advertising on Sci Fi.
They pull out.
Sci Fi channel is sold to new company.
The new company sees advertisers pulling out due to the actions of the Hammer/Eick/Moore Hydra.
The new company seesk to replace hammer.
A real Sci Fi Channel is born.
