Buck Roger Thunder Fighter in BSG Paint Scheme
Back in 2008, I lost my mother (to various different health issues).
So in memory of her I decided to make a thunder fighter and repaint it with a BSG paint scheme.
Reason for being, is that my mother was a fan of both series. Since the Thunder Fighter as originally designed for BSG, I decided that that would be the perfect memorial to my mother.
Here are the photos of the finished fighter:

Yes, these are paper (cardstock).
There are MANY paper models (of various quality) for BSG (as well as other sci-fi series and movies) that can be found on the internet for free (even stuff that you can not find in either plastic or resin).

Bidi bidi bidi....that looks great!
Rhaven, your paper models look awesome!
The nice thing about paper/cardstock models is that, whenever possible, they could actually use photographs to make the surface areas/textures for the ships so that they look photorealistic, and almost as if they were made of another material unless you looked at them closely, or actually picked the model up.

Thank you for the kind words!
Too right you are. There are quite a few designers who do just that. There are some that will use screen grabs from movies, TV series, or even games to get the texture that they want.
There are a few that design studio (and eve museum) quality models (which can either be a treat or a nightmare to build, depending on the complexity of the model and the design).
I work with a few designers (from all over the world) as a beta test builder. So I get the models first hand (before they hit the internet). Which is quite enjoyable.
For instance, one designer is designing a very detailed model of the Viper MK-I. I will be beta test building that one when it is ready (which I am GREATLY looking forward to)!
Another thing that I like about building paper models, is that there are more models available in paper them all of the other mediums combined. Paper is GREATLY cheaper than most other mediums. If you mess up and have to fix it (or worse yet have to rebuild it), it is easier with paper (so long as you have the model saved in your computer (or XHD). You can always print out a parts sheet, print out just the part that you need, or (worse yet), you can always re-print the entire model and start over again.

Re: Buck Roger Thunder Fighter in BSG Paint Scheme
I think that would be one of my greatest fears is accidentally crushing the model. But then again, I suppose that's a fear with just about any model one builds....to some degree, even a digital model.
Keep up the great work, and keep us in the loop.

That is a sweet model. I remember seeing an earlier concept illustration with that version viper for the original Galactica series. But then was changed.

Crushing the model is really not a problem if you have the original template saved on your hard-drive. You can always print out another kit and rebuild it.
The only thing that you have lost is paper, ink, a little paint (for painting the edges), glue, and time.
As opposed to a plastic model where you have spent more money buying a "RARE" kit (that you got off ebay or Amazon) that is no longer in production (and have either bought or scratch built extra parts for it to embellish even more).
I have built (and rebuilt) the same model for others (as well as myself) many times. Each time I do such, each model gets better and better (because I keep finding new ways to improve the overall looks of the model be adding more detail. Not only that, but my skills improve as well).
I will be posting more models as time goes on.
