Saw the trailer in front of X2.

Effects looked pretty cool and I'm a sucker for Sean Connery anyway.

Can anybody fill me in on where this story idea comes from, if it's looking to be true to it's source....etc.

Background not spoilers please.

It's a comic book Jewels. The comic was written by Alan Moore, considered by many to be the best comic writer in the past few decades. The movie and comic differ in the characters that are used but the essential premise is; what if the most famous literary heroes of the 19th century teamed up. Connery plays Alan Quatermain, other characters in the trailer were the Invisible Man, Mr. Hyde, and Captian Nemo.
