Watched Battlestar Galactica from the very beginning. Love the design of the ship. The new one in the mini is not nearly as good, but it's still better than a lot of the ships that are out there.

"...woo daddy,..."

I'll never forget seeing the original BSG film in the Summer of 1978,
in my hometown of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

I was 10 years old, and I saw it with my friend at the Britannia Six,
(the place was one of those "new Theatres" with 6 separate mini-theatres,
*thats how old I am, I'm 35

I'll never forget the opening scene with the Red Nebula,
and "...their are those who believe that life here, began out there,...."

As soon as I can afford it I'm gonna buy the complete DVD Compliation of the Old BSG series.

BTW, the "new BSG" can rot...

Take care, CaptainApollo

you should its great being able to the watch the show when ever you want.
I got mine a few weeks ago and is well worth it.
I use to have them taped on VCR and some were so bad in quailty at times I could hardly see the cast.
and the extra disc with out takes and behind the scenes is great.

all the best

Do you mean you had a videotape recorder back then? Or did you just tape the audio portion? (I once snuck an audiotape recorder into a theatre and recorded Yellow Submarine. I could easily see in my mind what was happening on screen whevever I played that tape!)

I think Captain Apollo left no doubts to his opinion.

Captain Morgan, no matter when you discovered her, she's held up well, Aye? Not much of any kind of TV made today can claim that sort of longevity. Welcome to the fleets, we're glad you discovered the show.

BTW: anyone that feels strong affection for the 1978 series: please check out and support as best you can www.colonialfanforce.org

I'm guilty too

When Tos was on in the 80's (re runs), we didn't have a vcr yet. So......... I got my boom box and sat it as close to the television as I could get and DARE anyone to make a sound while I was recording ((((((( I even paused the tape during commercials))))))))))))

Don't think my option's covered. When BBC2 here in the UK showed it in the mid-90's. And even then I only ever saw Saga until finally they got the whole lot going and straight into BSG80.

Saw the premiere, although I don't remember Jimmy Carter's address back then. Didn't much care about politics at that age anyway. Around that time, I also saw SoaSW in movie form at a nearby theater. The story, music and sound effects just blew me away at a very impressionable 8 years old.

Star Wars who???

Technically, been a fan since I saw my first Viper pic, sometime before the series premiere in 78.

I was 10 yo. when the series premiered. I would watch the series with my mum. Three years later, I received a copy of the story picture book (as a Christmas or birthday gift) and decided to teach myself how to make a Colonial Viper from paper/cardstock (using cigarette cartons). I was able to put an action figure in the cockpit (which is what kickstarted my interest in to hobby of paper/cardstock model building).

Funny how some of us were 10 years old in 1978!! We were at a very impressionable age and the starships and the Cylons were just awesome! Good old fashioned heroes in Apollo and Starbuck were just what was needed.

I always wished that I had seen the movie in the theaters but I never got to.
