DVD Backfire
Recently, while ruminating about the upcoming (and anxiously awaited) DVD release of TOS, I had a strange thought. With the inclusion of a preview of the detestable "reimagining" being included in the release, I couldn't help but think that at least one reason for releasing TOS on DVD was to increase interest in the new mini-series. If that's the case, I honestly believe that the DVD collection is going to accomplish the opposite. I think that many new viewers that are exposed to the heroic saga and memorable characters of TOS will not look favorably on the convoluted mess that is the new mini-series. I may just be dreaming, but here's hoping that owners of the DVD collection expose many of their uninitiated friends to the glory of TOS before the reimagined monstrosity arrives in December!
