New Year starting out like the Old Year ended.

Saw that today...
I used to watch his show religiously when I was a kid... My Fiance is a Nurse and took care of him for a time awhile back; And on top of it all, he was a Vermonter... Hits close to home; Seems we are losing our childhood Icons at an alarming rate, just going to show how much closer to the end we all are nearing...
A toast to the Captain for bringing joy into children's lives, and not Goodbye, but simply, See you later...
(for you younger folk)

Wow, I didn't know he was still around - he must've taken good care of himself. That was a wonderful show, the talking clock and bunny and Mr. GreenJeans, and of course the heart and soul of it, Capt. Kangaroo. My favorite part was when he read the story about the outdated steamshovel that dug itself into a hole. He will be missed...

Very true. Little by little, our childhood is diappearing but, it will only disappear completely if we let it. That's why it's important to have a little "kid" in all of us, to have a little of the childhood innocence and wonderment about everything, and to not let go. If we do, we will surely grow old.

Farewell, Cap'n.
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.
