I'm not happy
I got called for jury duty for Friday. Hoping that I don't get picked otherwise, its going to mess up my time for studying for school in the fall (haven't seen the inside of a classroom in nearly 13 yrs). Please pray that I don't get picked! I could really use those prayers.

I wouldn't sweat it too much... Where I live (Placer County) , they can call you up to 3 times a year for jury duty. I've had to go and actually serve only one time in the last 12 years. I've had to go to the selection process only about 3-4 times. One time, I got bumped because they only had room for 71 selectees and they sent the rest of us home.
When I did serve, it was only for 2-1/2 days and it was for a traffic incedent. It's the criminal cases you have to watch out for - those are the ones that go on for weeks, but they only ask for people that can really take that much time away from their jobs or whatever in order to serve.

Hang in there Arlene. Chances are you wont even have to report for the selection process. My prayers are with you for success in school. That should cover all bases.

Just tell them you believe the party is guilty until proven innocent. You'll be off the Jury list in a heart beat

Well the good thing about being called is that even if I am not picked, I don't have to do it again for another 3 yrs.
here they don't just pick you for a specific trial, as its either a civil or criminal trial. My hubby thinks I may be home around early afternoon Friday. So I will let you all know what happened.
